Positive: We absolutely loved our stay as a family of 4 (2 month old and 4 year-old), we stayed for 9 nights in early August. This is our 3rd trip to Crete and these are the best hosts we’ve had the pleasure to meet. They are kind, very responsive, flexible, proactive to solve issues, and thoughtful. They brought us delicious desserts and local pastries, and Maria even cooked us dinner for our first night as we arrived very late. The villa outdoor space is simply stunning, with beautiful mountain views. It has different areas for eating, a movable large parasol, a bbq, and playground for kids. The pool is 1.0m and 1.5 m deep, and was shaded in the morning. Our 4 year old daughter jumped in it every single day, and even told us she would love to live there and take the plane every day to go to her nursery. There are orange trees nearby which make the absolutely best juice. It is very peaceful. We have fallen in love with a nearby restaurant (Frosini’s garden). Also, everything is very clean and the large bin outside the villa is regularly changed (we never had to transfer the bin to the larger one in the street). We had zero insect issues (no ants/ wasps/ flys), just loads of cicadas signing. Grocery shopping required a bit of planning as the nearby supermarkets are about 15-20 minutes drive. Good washing machine and drying racks.
Negative: Luggage storage could be improved. The bunk beds are situated in the hallway, which means no storage for those sleeping there. We therefore had to put most of the luggages in the living room (you have access to the equivalent of a double wardrobe, a few shelves and 4 drawers in the main bedroom). The bunk bed ladder is not the easiest to use, as it is not secured to the frame and has very narrow steps. I’m only mentioning this as this might be important to consider depending on who will sleep at the top (i.e might be difficult for an adult).
Summary: Amazing stay! We would love to go back :)

Positive: Perfect! The villa is nice and clean, beautiful backyard. They have everything you need, including things like hair straightener, small shaving kit, first aid, a lot of kitchen appliances. There was ac in every room, the pool was big and clean, wifi was working fast, outdoor kitchen is so nice. The hosts were extremely kind, they made sure everything was ok. They also gave us some delicious desserts.

Positive: first off - great and super friendly host. Maria caters for every need, very responsive and proactive. She was spoiling us with local treats, wine nad fruit. Location is great - very quiet despite the near-by road. Its a local one with couple of cars passing a day. The house is only 40 min away from Chania airport and about half an hour drive from Chania's supermarkets ( AB Supermarket is probably the best one - https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=pl&gl=pl&um=1&ie=UTF-8&fb=1&sa=X&ftid=0x149c7d59d29ee9ff:0x47f8deca73717ec ). Located amond olive oil and orange trees orchards. You can literally pick them up (and lemons!) while having a walk around the house. Pool is heated for those travelling outside of the main season (altho extra charges apply). House is comfy, spacious kitchen, super clean and very well equiped. Maria provides fresh bathroom and pool towles every couple of days, sunbeds are there to enjoy the sun. The main house accomodates a couple with two kids (as there is a bunk bed). there is a possibility to have more pople sleeping on a sofa in the kitchen. There is also a smaller house at the premises if the travelling bunch is bigger and needs privacy. it has a spectacular view on the hills as one of the walls is just glass door. Obviously the best thing about this booking was the grill area and the pool. Having seafood on grill with sunset was really a treat. I recommend the closest fish monger: Ο Βυθός (https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=pl&gl=pl&um=1&ie=UTF-8&fb=1&sa=X&ftid=0x149c7d5d13446c27:0xed1a6a1c2a79c5f5 ) - only about 25 minutes drive. Maria provided charcoals, utensils, lighters, wine glasses, grill equipment. there are local teverns nearby - the closest is around 5 minute drive serving local cuisine and very strong raki. Cool, friendly people. Nice beaches are also not too far away: Falassarna beach or Balos are more or less 40-50 min away depending on the traffic.

Positive: The location was stunning - beautiful views of the mountains but quiet and away from the busyness of the coast - and the pool was exceptional. The host (Maria) was kind and gracious, and nothing was too much for her. We also enjoyed the shaded outdoor kitchen and eating outside. We really loved staying at Epimenidis House. It was such a relaxing experience. We would definitely go again.
Negative: Two minor comments - more crockery would be appreciated, and the mattress on the double bed was a little uncomfortable. These were small issues though.

Positive: Very warm welcome from Maria on arrival. The Villa had everything we needed, the outdoor kitchen was exceptional. We will definitely be back to stay here. The photos on booking.com are accurate to the Villa. Lovely host, great facilities, amazing stay.
Negative: This is absolutely no fault of the hosts but there were many wasps in the swimming pool. This would put many people off using it, especially with young family. However, we were in the pool everyday to cool down and didn’t get stung once. Our stay was during a heatwave so the insects were there all day to rehydrate. It would have been more relaxing had they not been there or so many.
