Positive: Third experience in the Maldives and this is the best reef I have ever seen in the archipelago. The resort was recently renovated, with new rooms that are very clean and well-maintained. The island is small and the atmosphere is quiet, with no excessive entertainment — something I personally appreciated. The food is good, with a balanced offering, never over the top like in mega resorts. We booked a studio room, but upon arrival we realized that the best accommodations are the beach villas, located on a different beach. It is absolutely worth spending a bit more to get one: I recommend booking them directly from the start. The best units are from 320 onwards. Keep in mind that the beach villas are not independent: they are arranged in pairs, semi-detached, which affects soundproofing and privacy. In other resorts I had found similar accommodations that were fully independent, and the difference is noticeable.

Negative: One negative note on checkout management: with the boat scheduled at 7:30 AM, we were asked to hand in the keys at 6:30, before breakfast. Once returned, we were not allowed back into the room even for a few minutes — not even for a quick stop before facing fifteen hours of travel home. A rigidity that is hard to justify, especially considering that the official checkout time is set considerably later than that hour. The English level at the reception was not always up to standard.

Positive: Everything! Don’t look any further! This resort ticked all our boxes. From the overall feel of the place, which has had such a great makeover it honestly feels brand new, to the food, which was consistently good throughout our stay (we were on full board), everything was spot on. The staff were warm, friendly and genuinely went out of their way to make sure we had a lovely time, without ever feeling over-familiar. I spent hours researching resorts that were close enough to Malé for convenience, but still far enough away to feel like a proper island escape and importantly, somewhere we could reach without needing a seaplane during monsoon season. Considering it was monsoon season, we also lucked out with 4 out of 5 days of sunshine, which felt like a real bonus.

Negative: Nothing.

Positive: 1. Distance: About 45–50 mins from the airport by speedboat 2. Resort Size: Very small; you can walk the entire island in 5 mins. Perfect for those seeking a quiet getaway. 3. Atmosphere: Due to the Middle East situation, there were only 50–60 guests during our stay (capacity is 150). It was incredibly peaceful and uncrowded 4. Gym: Excellent facilities. It’s actually more luxurious than many other five-star resorts. 5.Dining: About 14 main dishes per meal (excluding salads/breads). Every dish was delicious. In addition to Western food, there are 2–3 Chinese options per meal that cater well to Chinese tastes. The current Executive Chef is from Sweden, and the Chinese dishes are high quality because they previously hosted a Japanese guest chef for training. 6. Dining Variety: The menu rotates weekly, so it’s not the same every day. 7. Beach/Swimming: No lagoon or artificial breakwater; you can swim directly into the open ocean. 8. Bathroom: Indoor design, unlike the semi-outdoor style common in other island resorts.

Negative: 1. Drinks: As part of the All-Inclusive package, alcohol is free, but it would be great to have more variety and higher-quality cocktails. 2. Pest Control: I had many mosquito bites (30–40!) during the first three days. After reporting this, the resort started daily pest control/disinfection, which significantly improved the situation. I hope they maintain this frequency for future guests.

Positive: The property has been completely renovated. The rooms are brand new and beautifully designed. The sea is absolutely stunning. The food was exceptional, and the breakfast was generous and very varied. The same goes for the other meals. With the all-inclusive package, we were able to enjoy almost all the cocktails offered by the bar in the afternoon and evening. On our last evening, we were treated to something I had been looking forward to seeing for a long time: bioluminescence. We would definitely come back!

Positive: Breakfast was great as was lunch and dinner. Our bungalow was located on the north shore and has been renovated to new condition. Nice! The snorkeling area just in front of the bungalow allowed to see eagle rays, white tip reef sharks, grey reef sharks, turtles, octopuses, and a very large number of reef fishes.

Negative: The orange juice at breakfast was not great and the single coffee machine is VERY slow (another machine on it's way, apparently, so this should be temporary). The bathroom was very nice but as is so common it is lacking hooks to hang clothes, towels, etc. Should be easy and cheap to fix. The location is nice but quite far from the airport, of course (one hour speedboat journey that can be a bit bumpy when windy)... BTW, please don't be put off by the "9" instead of the "10". To get a 10 in my book it has to be great beyond imagination.
