Positive: Right on the beach. Had a suite and a standard room. Suite is really spacious, plenty of room. All areas clean and modern.. glass areas beautifully kept. Breakfast and dinner was excellent, something for everyone! Access to indoor pool from 10-1 was brilliant as we stayed in April and pools freezing! Town of Cambrils a 20 min walk away.

Negative: Have to say the majority of the staff were nice and pleasant but a lot of the waiting staff were quite unfriendly, particularly at the beach bar which was disappointing.

Summary: Lovely relaxing stay by the sea!

Positive: Excellent location and very nice facilities.

Negative: The implementation of the tiered service at this resort is strange and annoying. The full board option on booking dot com is not all-inclusive, so you will be charged for water everywhere despite El Dorado's claim during check-in that water is free. Also, there are sections at the buffet designated for 'all-inclusive only,' including water refill. The snack bar also has posted 'all-inclusive only' signs at water refill stations. There are no water refill stations for the full board option. According to the staff, tap water is the only 'free' water and staff assistance is required. When bringing this up with the staff, they defended their approach, saying it was 'like a restaurant' (it was not; it was a buffet). They insisted that I needed the all-inclusive pass to use the self-serve water station but would not upgrade me since I was booked for four nights and had already stayed one night. (The all-inclusive requires four nights minimum.) Overall, I found El Dorado has excellent facilities, but its annoying policies regarding the tiered services made the experience just okay.
