Positive: Great location along the canal. Easy access to downtown and bike paths.
Negative: Death defying stairs to get to your room. Bathroom had a very pungent smell coming up from the shower drain. Had to sleep with the window open to allow for fresh air.

Positive: Great location in an authentic neighborhood.
Negative: The narrow, spiral, dangerous staircase to the the rooms. Beware and be careful.

Positive: The room was well laid out and very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was small but the shower was good and the water toasting hot. The location is central and convenient for the university and town centre.
Negative: The stairs are extremely steep and extremely narrow. They are not for the faint hearted or anybody with mobility issues. Carrying a large suitcase up would be extremely challenging, and there was little help available. The road is busy and was very noisy with a lot of vocal passersby (I was there on Friday and Saturday night so maybe it is quieter midweek). Consider bringing earplugs...
Summary: Very bijou and comfortable hotel, but the street was a little noisy.

Positive: I can confirm all positive comments of others. We had a lovely stay, the location is fantastic, we loved the spacious room and even while it was getting cold outside, the heating in the room was more than adequate: super comfy. It's the perfect location from where to stroll around the wonderful center of Leiden, and if you're done walking around, there are some fantastic restaurant options just across from Ex-Libris, so easy and enjoyable.
Summary: What a gem: the location, spacious room and the no-nonsense very positive hospitality, we loved it!

Positive: Very good location. Wonderful breakfast options. Pleasant and helpful manager/owner. Comfortable room, with Air-conditioning and a great bathroom. Comfortable bed. We enjoyed that there were two TV's available. Good WIFI as well. All of the center of Leiden was in walking distance. Plenty of shops restaurants supermarkets and even the Market were all very close by. Parking also available for those with a Car.
Negative: We did miss some appliances that could have improved our stay, such as a microwave, fridge and utensils.

Positive: Didn’t have breakfast, but it was available at additional charge.
Negative: The stairs were terribly steep. There was no reception or hotel facilities. It was less like a hotel and more like an Airbnb.
