An exquisite 5 bedroom designer’s Classic South Shore Style home in the Village of Chester, with an abundance of architectural detail, character, charm and comfort.
A spacious open main floor with expansive windows, cathedral ceiling that spans the living and dining rooms, bamboo hardwood floors, fireplaces, beautifully furnished including antiques and artwork, lends itself to entertaining in an informal but gracious ambience.
Large kitchen for the most discriminating of tastes features an 8’ island with seating for six next to a charming sitting area and grand gas fireplace overlooking the private, south-facing backyard including an island oasis of perennial gardens and a fire pit. This home has a relaxing atmosphere and is ready for you to enjoy a fabulous Chester holiday.
Well suited to accommodate multi-families and friends as the house can be conveniently separated into two wings by a designer interior barn door and can sleep up to 10 adults.
The large master suite upstairs features a walkout private deck and view of the ocean. It has a vaulted ceiling with king sized poster plantation bed, en-suite with soaker tub, glass shower and walk-in closet.
Additional rooms include: a King; a Queen; two Extra Long Twin beds that can be configured as a King; and a custom bunk bed with Extra Long Twins that can easily accommodate 6’ adults. Also available is a new baby’s crib with duvet. All bedding includes new pillows, linens and luxury pillow top mattresses by Kingsdown and Sealy. There is a bathroom on the main floor with a large walk in glass shower.
Situated on a quiet, private, well-manicured large property with mature trees and gardens and parking for up to six cars.
The home is unfortunately not available for weddings.
Walking distance to the Chester Yacht Club, Chester Playhouse, Chester Tennis Club and the Chester Golf Club (a public 18-hole golf course offering spectacular views of the Bay), Chester’s shops, restaurants and tavern.
The Village of Chester has a public seawater lido pool with lifeguards, Freda’s beach – a public beach, and Sunday concerts in the gazebo on the parade grounds.
The 250 year old historic seaside Village of Chester is overlooking Mahone Bay. A small picturesque sailing village, Chester is located on the beautiful South Shore of Nova Scotia, along the scenic, coastal Lighthouse Route. Known for its many stately homes and relaxed sailing lifestyle, Chester has two natural harbours: Front Harbour to the East and Back Harbour to the West.
The waters of Mahone Bay, with its numerous islands, are well known for yachting and Chester hosts the renowned Chester Race Week, the largest keel boat regatta in the Atlantic provinces. A ferry, located a short walk away, connects the Village of Chester to two islands nearby, Big Tancook Island and Little Tancook Island.

Halifax is 45 minutes away and Halifax International Airport is a 55 minute drive.

Summary: We gathered young and old at this house and it was perfect for our needs. Kitchen was large and well-stocked and separate from the bedrooms so that the early birds could get going while the loungers enjoyed their lie-ins. We had a lot of space to spread out but could come together for family meals. Thanks for the great stay!

Summary: First family vacation with my husband, 3 sons, 3 daughters-in-law and my 3-year-old grandson. First time for all of us on the East Coast. Loved the house. Loved the location. Day trips to the beach, Peggy’s Cove, Lunenburg, Petite Riviere Vineyard, Big Tancook Island and Halifax were all less than an hour away. Downtown Chester had quaint shops, excellent restaurants and was less than a 15-minute walk from the house. Nearby golf course and tennis as well. Highly recommend this home for multi-generational families!

Summary: Was the perfect spot for my siblings and our 19 to 30 year old children! Easy walk into town and for a golfing family it was perfect. We cooked a lot and the kitchen was very well equipped with plate and cook wear.

Summary: Our family had a beautiful week here. 2 seniors, 2 kids, 5 adults and we had lots of space for everyone. The kitchen and BBQ made cooking a treat. Chester is an outstanding location to enjoy many of the island's highlights but still be within reasonable distance of Halifax. We would gladly return if travelling with a large group again.
