Drive down the private lane to arrive at Elm Grove Farm. Enjoy breathtaking sunsets over the water. This beautiful 3 acre waterfront property is located on the banks of the North River and boasts a new 180 foot split-level boat dock. The house features four bedrooms and two and half bathrooms, 2,300 square feet of living space and an expansive 1,200 square foot combination deck and gazebo that provides a panoramic water front view.
The master suite has a king size bed. The adjoining bathroom has a shower and a windowed garden tub overlooking the scenic North river. The suite also hosts a walk-in closet.
The Sunroom offers direct access to the deck and can also double as a family game room and/or as additional sleeping space for one by using the day bed.
The second bedroom has a queen size bed with a spectacular waterfront view. The third adjacent bedroom has two twin beds ideal for singles or children.
The vaulted ceiling in the family room makes for great movie nights, family gatherings or just relaxing. It flows directly into the dining area that has a farm table accommodating eight place settings. This area opens up to the kitchen, appointed with new stainless steel appliances, spacious countertops, a central island, and a breakfast area that comfortably seats six.
There is additional independent living space above the detached garage with its own balcony overlooking the river. It has two twin beds as well as a separate bathroom with shower. A mini-refrigerator and microwave are also included for your convenience. This garage apartment can be combined with the main house for extended family and guests.
Kayaks, complete with paddles, and life jackets, are available for use during the season.

Elm Grove Farm offers the best of both worlds: quiet seclusion and the possibility of exploring historical sites such as Colonial Williamsburg, the Jamestown Settlement, the Yorktown Battlefield, the Colonial National Historical Park and other well known attractions such as Busch Gardens and Water Country. Each of these destination locations are about an hour away. Mathews and Gloucester Counties, with their own unique character and downhome cultural charm, are just minutes away. Each features seasonal festivals and events, the most notable of which are the Gloucester Daffodil Festival in the spring and Mathews Market Days in early fall.
Bring your fishing gear and try your hand at catching croakers, trout, rockfish and spot. Throw some crab pots in and see how many crabs you catch. While the spacious kitchen and outdoor barbecue offer the perfect place to prepare a family meal, there are many outstanding dining options in the local communities nearby.

Summary: We spent our Thanksgiving here and we couldn’t have made a better choice ! The house was beautiful and the property was breathtaking. The family had so much they didn’t wanna leave ! Looking forward to to coming back during the Summer so we enjoy the deck and water.

Summary: This was a fantastic place on the North River estuary, and Noel was a fantastic host. Three kayaks for use as much as you want, great quiet location with sensational sunsets over the water while sitting on the back deck. Even plenty of oysters - which were delicious - from the river banks. Noel even had kale and turnips in the garden to supplement our dinners. Spacious great room and dining area to accommodate family. We had a wonderul time1 Thanks Noel!

Summary: Everything about the place is super nice, laid back, and clean. The teens loved kayaking in the river and fishing and was a bit less than an hour from Colonial Williamsburg, 35 min or so from Yorktown. So nice to come back to a place where you can chill out and have privacy and space!

Summary: If you want a clean, private, spacious place to vacation, this is your spot! The views are amazing. The host is top notch, and I’ve never seen a cleaner house. It’s cozy yet spacious and we had the best time there. Just wish we could have stayed longer.

Summary: This property was great for our family for a mini summer getaway on the water. My husband and I stayed 4 nights with 5 children, ages 10-15. We all enjoyed fishing, kayaking, and playing in the water with rafts we brought along. The house was pretty well stocked with with everything you might need for a comfortable stay including plenty of towels, blankets, pillows, sheets, kitchen cookware and appliances, some condiments in the fridge, baking supplies in the pantry and some basic seasoning/spices for cooking. The house was very clean and bright and the owner stopped by to say hello and make sure we had everything we needed. The nearest town is about 20 mins away so bring everything you need with you or expect a long trip away from the house to get any food/supplies. We also brought along a volleyball/badminton net to play in the yard which was great. The house was very nice and suited our family well and we certainly enjoyed our stay.
