Positive: I liked the owner, she was pleasant enough and cooked me a lovely breakfast each morning and kindly brought me some alternative milk.
Negative: I didn't like not being informed enough beforehand. For instance, I struggle with stairs in the middle of the night so having a downstairs toilet was not good. The bed was in the eaves and it was very hard to access without banging my head and I'm only 5ft tall! Also I need a comfy bed and chose this accommodation because it said it had a large bed. This is the most important thing for me as I struggle to sleep due to hip problems. I was very disappointed to find the bed was two singles zipped together, very very uncomfortable and lumpy in the middle so I had to sleep on one side of the bed, and the whole point of my stay was to avoid the single bed situation. The sofa in the living room was only usable if I removed the seat cushions and sat on the frame! Most of the cereals provided were way out of date. Cobwebs everywhere, especially on the stairs and bedroom.
Summary: Nice lady, disappointing digs

Positive: The place was lovely and the location really quiet. The bed was also comfortable and I slept well. My host was away so I didn't see anyone. I have read the reviews about cooked breakfasts, pastries and great food but I didn't get offered anything like that. I just had a Malt loaf of, which appeared to be defrosted and in a freezer bag and some cereal. Very disappointed that everyone else says the food was good but I didn't get anything. I wasn't offered or told that this would be missing?
Negative: The shower was poor and the bathroom not great and was just adequate. Personally, I'm not a great fan of used condiments like jams as you never know what has gone into them, especially kids fingers etc or are cross contaminated. As a person with an allergy, I had to avoid just in case. Whist the cereal was good, I didn't really have a choice other then the malt loaf supplied. Where was my breakfast????? Everyone says the breakfast was great but I didn't get a breakfast of that standard or any standard really? I couldn't find a Tea towel or cloth to wipe anything with but I do understand you could just put dishes in the box. Still, I like to rinse a cup and re use it and was also worried if I spilt anything, I couldn't wipe it up. As a business traveller, it also would of been helpful to have an Iron and ironing board in the room and as the host was not present it could not be supplied. At first thought this was great until I realised I paid for something I didn't get?

Positive: The cottage was absolutely beautiful. Quiet, charming, comfortable and the perfect place to stay. I was attending a wedding and wanted somewhere local, and this could not have been more perfect. The cottage was clean, inviting and cosy, with lovely personal touches and charming decor. I had a beautiful continental breakfast with fresh bread and condiments, and a peaceful sleep in a lovely double bed. The best part of all was Victoria. She is the kindest, friendliest host you could hope for. I felt so welcome and so looked after, and she even placed beautiful Christmas decorations around the cottage to embrace the festive feels. Victoria gave me a lift to the wedding venue and I could not have asked for a more accommodating host. Thank you so much for looking after me - especially when I fell over at the church haha!
Negative: I only booked one night :( definitely deserving of a long weekend!
Summary: A wonderful welcome to the charming countryside
