Positive: Check in was smooth and easy a very nice staff member from the front desk helped me upon arrival with toothbrushes and packets of toothpaste as id forgotten to bring them on our trip and she also brought up the extra pillows that I'd asked for upon booking and at check in (that weren't there upon arrival) and extra towels I saw we needed once I got up to the room and called down for them. The maid staff in the hallway assisted in getting me toilet paper and tissues that needed to be replenished in the room the first morning of our stay there, and that staff member was friendly. The continental breakfast choices were not bad 2 of the 3 mornings of our stay, and the attending staff to that was diligent in keeping it stocked despite a large number of guests. The kind and happy demeanor of the (understaffed) hard-working staff that I personally encountered saved what opinion I have of this trip that is positive. The lobby area was very clean. The hot water remained hot long enough for showers for 4 people. The location was decent and close to a gas station and popular streets leading to main drags for good accessibility. The blue chevron pattern wallpaper in the bathroom was a good design choice very appealing.
Negative: First impression thru the door - The carts to bring your belongings to the room were dirty, small, and few (but lobby was well kept clean) Their idea of a "King Suite" with a "separate bedroom" just means a standard small room size with a pull out full size mattress pad sofa and a King size bed crammed in without even a curtain to separate the "bedroom and living room with pull out couch" and the view out the window was of the rusted outdated industrial im assuming service building attachment on the back of the building, with a slight view of the rear parking lot. kept the windows locked and curtains shut. We weren't able to watch our own app subscriptions on the tvs provided, and the space was so small that you couldn't have both tvs on at the same time to enjoy separately. Half the garbage cans didn't have liners (the ones that did had them lightly shoved in without being neatly tightened/tied down as youd expect in any hotel) and the thank you cards left for the cleaning staff from the last people in the room were still there (like the room had been hastily barely tidied from the last guests despite us not arriving until after 5 pm when check in was at 3). It appeared as though someone came in and tidied up from the last guests quickly before we were shoved into a "King suite" room that barely passed for the description, like an instant heart sank to your gut feeling upon walking into a normal hotel room that you just paid $800+ for 3 nights in and instant disappointment for every guest upon walking into the room after being hyped about staying in -(Not a great impression for a family planning to return multiple times a year to a hotspot destination ) There were no pillows just cases inside a bag for the pullout sofa "bed" which was a very flat 2 to maaaybe 3 inch mattress pad that was irritatingly tolerated to sleep on top of metal bars and springs of its frame for 3 nights.
