The inside.
Inside this log home you'll find two living rooms and two gas log stone fireplaces with refined finishes perfect for cozying up on those chilly Carolina Mountain nights.
The main level offers the well-equipped kitchen and dining area with seating for 10, a living room, and two glass sliding doors that take you out to an oversized patio. The main level also features a four-piece bathroom and comfortable bedroom with a queen bed. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking, and there are games and a DVD player available for your entertainment.
From the main level, you will walk upstairs and find the spacious master bedroom that offers a comfy king bed & double glass-doors to a private balcony overlooking the pond. This bedroom also features an oversized closet. The upper bath is newly remodeled and shared with the third bedroom that features a queen bed.
Downstairs you will find a second living area with a gas-log stone fireplace and huge flat screen TV. The downstairs living area features a spacious wet bar and game area perfect to share with adults and children alike. From the second living area, open the double glass doors to a beautiful view with rocking chairs for you to enjoy.
The 3rd four-piece bathroom and 4th bedroom with a daybed and trundle are also located on the bottom floor.
The laundry room and gym area with free-weights, a yoga ball, and stair step elliptical are available for your pleasure. And finally, a dedicated workspace is available to meet your remote working needs.
High speed wireless internet and Roku TVs are available for your viewing pleasure with flat screen TVs throughout the home.
The outside.
Decks for days (and heaters & fire pits for nights). The exterior of this log cabin is as dreamy as the interior. Enter the driveway to find a spacious covered carport big enough to fit two cars. From the carport, a short walk to the front door you will pass the entry gate to a fenced-in dog run.
The wrap around deck off the main level is covered so you can enjoy the outdoors rain or shine and features a large 6 burner outdoor gas-grill and multiple seating areas. An outdoor heater and fire pit is available to help you make the most of your relaxing getaway.
From the main level deck, a stairway will take you to the downstairs deck with a view of the lush grass and peaceful pond.
Upstairs, a private balcony off the master bedroom provides a perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee and sensational sunrise.
The community.
The gated community provides you extra amenities throughout your stay. Should there be snow accumulation during your stay, the community will clear the neighborhood roads. Additionally, the community features two ponds with lovely sitting and cooking areas.
The little things.
Traveling with babies can be hard, let us help. A baby bathtub, pack n’ play with sheets, and a booster seat are available throughout your stay.

Summary: Sit and ponder is just like it sounds. We spend every morning and evening on the outdoor decks looking over the pond. It is close to many activities and we really enjoyed walking through West Jefferson. The house is even better than the pictures!

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this rental. The cabin is decorated beautifully and had everything we needed on hand. The location was within about 30 minutes from a variety of attractions such as Grayson Highlands park, Mt Jefferson park, New River State park, Jefferson/West Jefferson shops and restaurants. My husband enjoyed a few runs for exercise in the community on the gravel roads. We both enjoyed sitting on the upper deck overlooking the pond while having our morning coffee.

Summary: We had such a wonderful family weekend here! It couldn’t have been easier! We had everything we needed - the cabin is well kept, nicely appointed with plenty of comfortable seating for our group of 7 inside and out and stocked with everything you need for a great trip to the mountains. Communicating with our host was easy and prompt. I would recommend this cabin to anyone wanting to escape to the mountains. We would definitely book this cabin again!

Summary: Exceptional! My family is already wishing we were still there. The owners have gone over and above to make sure your stay was stress free. Everything you could ever need is there. Especially loved we did not have to bring and bedding or towels. Just the BEST!

Summary: This property was absolutely everything we were looking for!! Peace and quiet from the outside world, high above the trees. Our mom's loved sitting on the porch just rocking and talking amongst themselves. We took our 80+ y/o mom's and 14 y/o granddaughter, (lol, that absolutely loved the bottom floor all to herself, since none of the older ladies could climb down the stairs!) We loved that our fur kids were able to go with us and not be boarded since my granddaughter has a service dog with her at all times. We absolutely loved the drive out and all the wildlife that we saw. Close enough to the local stores for shopping. We ventured out a few times and saw some sights. Grandfather Moutain and a wonderful picnic lunch was packed. On our way back we stopped at The Mast General Store in Valle Crucis and who could resist Jerky Outpost in Banner Elk,NC., Be sure to visit Ashe Cheese store and watch the process of making cheese and walking across the street to the store and buy up some fresh cheese products. Christina Cockey owner of this hidden gem was so informative and fast to answer any and all questions we may have had. I seriously have nothing bad to say about this cabin and look forward to our next vacation and hope it will be available for 2 weeks next year. Thanks again for a beautiful and memorable vacation.
