ABOUT OUR PROPERTY:
Moonfish Villas is a fenced property with three simple, elegant, oceanfront Beach Houses (plus the private one-bedroom apartment - The Sloop) boasting picture-perfect views across the pool and gardens leading onto beautiful Bathway Beach.
Pelican and Beachcomber Villas are spacious, detached, 2-bedroom beach houses and were custom-designed to be 'upside downโ€™. This means that the best views, from the top floor, can be enjoyed during the day! Each has two large balconies with casual seating and stunning panoramic views. A bright and spacious Great Room invites you to make yourself at home with two couches, a dining table for four, a full kitchen with fridge/freezer, four ring gas stove/cooktop and oven, and two full-length balconies. The upper balcony, accessed through either of the two double-dutch screened doors, features a large dining table which seats 6, and stunning views!
On the lower floor are the ensuite bedrooms, each has a Queen bed in one bedroom, and two Extra-Long Twins in the second bedroom. Ensuite bathrooms in the villas are actually large shower or wetrooms, (approx 8'x5โ€™), with toilet and tiled vanity with basin.
All doors and windows (except the main entrance door) have screens, and the cooling trade winds eliminates the need for air conditioning - and also helps deter mosquitos on the property.
Free Wireless Internet (wifi), original art on the walls, and other special touches to help make this your perfect holiday hideaway. Linens, towels, and beach towels are provided.
ABOUT OUR AREA
Grenada is very small, only 13 miles wide and 21 miles long which means everything is in easy reach. It is possible to drive around the entire island in 2.5 hours! Out of the hurricane belt, Grenada is popular year-round for holiday makers and yachties, who know they can moor their boats here and still be covered by insurance.
Also known as โ€œThe Spice Islandโ€, Grenada is a firm favourite for foodies, the tastes and scents of our most famous exports surround you and tempt you to try new dishes. We have placed a few cookbooks in each villa to inspire you, and welcome baskets include local fruit and handmade treats. We were thrilled to be part of the rebranding process to Pure Grenada, to encourage tourism, when they used our property as a film location.
We are close to Sauteurs, the third largest city on the island. There you will find several small grocery stores, a small fish market, a selection of places to eat or get take-away meals, and an MNIB (the farmers co-operative) which is where you will find fresh seasonal produce. Grenville, the second-largest city on the island, is about a half-hourโ€™s drive, or taxi ride. Grenville features a wonderful fish market and farmers market, as well as two larger grocery shops and another MNIB.
Live like a local, and be welcomed by our charming, friendly neighbours in this unspoilt corner of the Caribbean!
We are currently renting two of the three villas, and the apartment, providing room for larger groups of up to 10 should you be travelling with a larger group!
Please note: Due to some design features, our insurance company insist that we can only accept guests aged 8 and over. We are sorry but we are unable to accept bookings arriving Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Yearโ€™s Eve or New Yearโ€™s Day so that our property managers can also enjoy those holidays. Please do not book flights to arrive these days, there will be no transport, restaurants, or grocery stores open across the island.
We are very sorry, but after having some surprises recently we need to lay this out firmly for the comfort of our other guests. Please see rental agreement/ terms & conditions of rental but to be absolutely clear, should a reservation party arrive with arrive with children under the age of 8 &/or additional guests to original booking &/or invite additional guests onto the property then all members of the party will be excluded permanently from the property with no refunds.

Summary: This was a very nice house in a beautiful location. I would definitely stay there again

Summary: We had a wonderful three nights staying at Kitty and Russ' apartment. The Northern part of Grenada is a bit off the beaten path and feels a bit "undiscovered," which is exactly what we loved about it. We never could have navigated it so well or seen so much in so little time (just 3 days!) without our hosts' excellent recommendations. We are so grateful for their hospitality!

Summary: My husband and I, and my parents, spent 8 nights in Pelican at Moonfish. We loved our stay in this part of the island and Moonfish was a great location from which to explore all that this part of Grenada offers. Pelican is a casual, comfortable, spacious beach house with soaring ceilings and great balconies facing the ocean (off of the upstairs dining/living area and the main level bedrooms). A color scheme of blues, whites and grays reflects the ocean location and is very cheerful. We spent many hours on the upstairs balcony looking out at the ocean and nearby islands, enjoying the constant ocean breezes, the sound of the crashing waves and soaking in the incredible natural beauty. Because of the breezes, we didn't encounter any mosquitoes here. Kitty was amazingly helpful in her suggestions for restaurants and things to do. She really went the extra mile to be hospitable in every way. Any issues that we had were promptly addressed. Having the beach steps away from our doorstep and a swimming beach on Bathway just a couple minutes walk away, was ideal. Levera Beach was also very, very close. Two absolutely beautiful beaches! The breezes and ceiling fans kept things mostly comfortable, although some nights were warmer than we'd like for sleeping. The sounds of crashing waves and frogs at night were a natural, interesting part of the surrounding environment and we loved hearing them. They might be too loud for some for sleeping, so just bring earplugs if it might be an issue. We loved our time in the North and our stay at Moonfish! We loved the privacy and the special beauty that we encountered here. We'd love to come back!

Summary: We rented one of the Moonfish Villas (the Pelican) because we wanted to spend some time on the beach but away from the crowds of tourists and it was perhaps the best vacation we ever had (and we travel _a lot_). It is an ideal destination for anyone who likes comfort but does not like the over-groomed accommodation and one-size-fits-all style of a resort. It is also great for nature lovers and for people who do not like the noise of a tourist beach. The villas are located right on the beautiful Bathway beach. Swimming is dangerous at the Bathway beach (as in do not even try) which leaves it practically empty However, there is another gorgeous beach - Levera beach - about 20 minute leisurely but spectacular walk by foot, or a 5 minute drive. The Bathway beach is a localsโ€™ beach: so if you want a flavor of the people who live here, it is the place to be. You can witness a family cookout or watch families play in shallow rock-guarded pool. The Pelican villa comfortably houses 4 people with a possibility of one more [child] guest staying in the โ€œHarry Potterโ€ room. The rooms are clean, spacious and airy, the kitchen is open-concept and turns into welcoming common space. The balcony opens onto the ocean offering spectacular views of the beach and the sky. The grounds are beautiful and bright with plants and flowers. The is a private pool and a small veranda from which you can see and hear the sea. Within 3 minutes walk there is Aggieโ€™s restaurant โ€“ a must try and a another small chip place (which we did not try). If you plan to stay here, do not be like us and arrange for a car rental in advance. Getting groceries and fresh fish at Sauteurs is an experience in and of itself. There are plenty of charming small destinations to visit within 20-30 minute drive, do not miss the chance. Grenada is safe and friendly in general and this part seems to be so in particular. A woman can walk alone along the road and it is common courtesy to offer rides to people (and it is safe to accept them โ€“ no payment expected). The owner has helped us with everything, from buying an initial set of groceries before our arrival, to renting a car, to suggesting trips, etc. etc. We definitely plan to be back, it is a location I would recommend to anyone. The only thing to note to anyone is that it is a remote, quiet location. If peace is what you want, there is no place better. However if you prefer a busier style of vacation, maybe this is not your thing.

Summary: Moonfish was amazing! Kyle and I researched and spent our honeymoon here and wouldn't have had it any other way. It was very secluded, but having Kitty and Russ on the property made us feel very safe and secure. They had an endless suggestion of activities to do, and even arranged for an all natural spa visit and a trip to an island that only had us on it for the entire day! I would suggest Moonfish to anyone. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous and the accommodations were very comfortable. Food was provided for the night we arrived and the next morning. A car was arranged for us to rent, and a ride to St George's whenever we needed it.

Summary: I next to never go back to a property or location since there is so much to see and so little time, but I would go back the Moonfish Villas, Bathway Beach and Grenada! Our family stayed in both the Pelican and Beachcomber for a week and had a holiday that was both fun and relaxing. I can't really think of anything that could have made it better. The positive experience starts with how easy Kitty was to deal with when we were booking and organizing our vacation. She is quick to respond to inquiries and has great suggestions for things like car rental (MacIntyre's service and cars were excellent), local places to eat, day trips, etc. She and Russ are the perfect hosts; there when you need them and virtually invisible when you don't. The homes are very clean, nicely decorated, comfortable and perfect for a casual beach holiday getaway when you really don't need or want to spend a lot of time indoors. The kitchens have everything you need to make all meals if you choose to eat in. There are a couple of places to eat within walking distance, Aggie's would be the best, but otherwise you have to drive to get any sort of variety. The location, homes and hosts are ideal if you are looking for a quiet holiday on a secluded beach. I'd highly recommend (and have already) Moonfish Villas to family and friends.

Summary: We wanted the perfect unspoilt beachside location and this is it! Kitty's description and photos of the location and the property were spot on and the Bathway Beach area is truly beautiful. We were welcomed with a basic grocery shop done for us and a meal from a local restaurant, Aggie's, delivered to our door by Kitty as we arrived on Valentine's Day. Kitty also arranged for us to be collected from the airport and a hire car to be delivered to our door the next day, all part of the service. A perfect Caribbean Escape!

Summary: We wanted a quiet getaway and both Grenada and Moonfish Villas were perfect for us. Moonfish is tucked away on the Northeast end of the island. There are two rental villas which will likely come to feel like your own by the end of your stay. The living quarters are clean, comfortable and connected to a patio. Walk upstairs to your own kitchen, living and dining room. The upstairs is also connected to a balcony with a breathtaking view of the Atlantic. Electricity, Wi-Fi and telephone are all available. You can spend the day doing nothing but looking at the view and on your balcony or relaxing poolside. The property is on Bathway Beach so you can take relaxing walks or go swimming in a designated swimming area a few minutes down from the villas. If you feel the desire to adventure, the owners can set up a rental car for you so that you can explore the picturesque island laced with semi trafficked roads which would make any rally car racer content. The center of the island is a mountainous rainforest that offers many hiking trails and waterfalls. The South of the island is where you will find most of the activities and it is also the touristy part of the island. Kayaking, snorkeling and scuba diving are all great adventures in the South. Closer to home there are multiple hot springs, beaches and historical sites. It would be wise to stock up provisions in St. Georges though, you will find what you need around Bathway. Adrian "Spaceman" Mitchell runs the local shop (5 minute drive) which you will find day to day provisions. Sauters is only 15 minutes by car and they have all you will need to fill your kitchen. The closest major city is Grenville which has plenty of shopping for both provisions and souvenirs. Though, if you would prefer to head out for your meals there are some great restaurants which range from fry ups to fine dining. The Heights is a culinary must, located in Sauters. If you are lucky enough to find yourselves in the area on Friday, just another 20 minute drive from Sauters would land you in Victoria for "Fish Friday" which is a great event full of local food and fun. Grenada is a fantastic Caribbean getaway with lots to offer and I am positive that we will return. Moonfish is perfect to make the home away from home vacation a reality.

Summary: Before traveling I always do a thorough due diligence on where to go and where to stay, I must have looked at a 100 houses and contacted at least 40 of them before making my decision when renting Moonfish Villas for our stay over Christmas for 5 day last Christmas, before going out sailing in the Grenadines. When I found Moonfish villas I nearly instantly realized that this was the place for us, and after coming into contact with Kitty it's owner and the warm and welcoming email she sent me I knew that this would be the perfect stay. Kitty then helped me arrange our entire stay from pick up at the airport to rental car and day trips, Kitty truly walks the extra mile for her guests. Arriving at the villa all of our hopes were met and more, we got the most heartwarming welcome even though we arrived during the night. Kitty and Russ greeted us and showed us the house, making sure we had all we needed. Opening the doors to the veranda the first time was an amazing experience; the sea is right there and the sound of the waves breaking and the smell in the air truly make you feel you have found your own piece of paradise. The house itself is impeccable, it is so new and fresh, nicely decorated with all the amendments you could need. The northern part of the island is of course a bit secluded from the hustle and bustle of the south but you felt that you really get to experience the true Grenada. We went shopping in the local village had delicious food from the roadside plain air barbeques, and just a stroll down the beach you had the true local beach life we came looking for. It is a bit of a drive but if you are here for relaxation in a paradise surrounding this is the part of Grenada you will find it. We stayed in the southern part for just two nights after sailing and it was nice to but not to compare with what we got staying at Moonfish villas. I would recommend anyone to stay at the Moonfish Villas when they are in Grenada, it has beautiful setting, the villa I impeccable, beaches restaurants and local villages just around the corner. It might be secluded but you never feel alone reassured that you have you host close to help meet any of your needs. The entire experience was great and we will cherish the memories for a lifetime.

Summary: We (couple over 50, two daughters, 21 and 24) spent two weeks at Moonfish and enjoyed our โ€œownโ€ beach house, the pool and on some days the beach. Waves can be quite rough and noisy :-), the sea breeze is great. We rent a car and would recommend it to anyone. You can explore Grenada, drive to the Caribbean side for swimming, do your shopping in Santeurs (around 15 minutes by car) and have there a great meal in the local restaurant โ€œHelenasโ€. Nearby (walking distance) we can recommend Aggieโ€™s (try the breadfruit balls!) for dinner and lunch and also the Water Club: although it is only a beach cottage the nice couple cooked what ever we asked them to do (chicken breast, fishโ€ฆ.) and arranged a boot trip to Sandy Island where they made a wonderful fish soup for us there. Moonfish villas are lovely furnished with attention to the detail, cosy and well equipped. What a view from the balconies on both floors! Thanks to Kitty โ€“ she was always there with great support and advises. She arranged a small shop so that we had food on arrival, organised perfectly the transport from and to the airport, gave us lots of information in advance via E-Mail. According to our wishes she arranged a lady to come on several mornings which made pancakes & omelettes for us and cleaned the villa a little bit. We felt so welcomed and comfortable. The whole area is pretty untouched - most of the time we had the beach more or less to ourselves but on weekends the locals will have there barbecues there - - great atmosphere with music and rum :-) They made us very welcome, have not met so friendly people before! We made lots of trips to discover Grenade (to drive a car โ€“ on the left side โ€“ needs quite often strong nerves :-) as streets are curvy and narrow and the locals love fast driving) and love especially Grand Anse with its white Caribbean beach. We drove round the island and used the street along the coast โ€“ amazing views! But we always tried to be โ€œhomeโ€ before darkness :-) Don't miss the rum factory nearby and the chocolate fabric - a must: taste the 71% chocolate! Our daughters missed โ€œnightlifeโ€ a little bit but for us "oldies" it was a perfect place to relax and take time out to breathe.
