The spacious accommodation is attached to the main house which is occupied by the owners.

Hidden in the heart of Calderwood Valley and nestled in the foothills of the Illawarra Escarpment, lies a little piece of paradise - Escape778.
Escape778 is approx 1.5 hrs from Sydney, approx 20 min from Shellharbour, Kiama or Wollongong and approx 45 mins from the Southern Highlands. Your approach to Escape778 brings you through rich dairy cattle land which is also steeped in history of the long gone timber getters of the late 1800's.
Set on 50 acres, surrounded by lush rainforest with majestic views overlooking Calderwood Valley across to the Pacific Ocean, Escape778 is a sanctuary where you can escape from the everyday, a place to relax and unwind.
Our three room choices are:
Room 1: twin room with ensuite (can be made into a King upon request)
Room 2: two king singles with ensuite. (can be made into a Triple upon request)
Room 3: twin room with private bathroom (can be made into a King upon request)

Cook dinner in the picturesque pergola or spend the evening relaxing around the outdoor fire pit.
After dinner, take a evening stroll and see our nocturnal neighbours – owls, wallabies, wombats, ringtail possums and if you’re lucky, a bandicoot.
Getting Out and About
For those that like to get out and about, we are centrally based within reach of a variety of local attractions, there’s something to do for everyone. Play a game of golf at the nearby Calderwood Golf Course, visit Minnamurra Rainforest or pop up the mountain and visit the Southern Highlands. For majestic views the Illawarra Fly is well worth a visit.
The beautiful village of Shellharbour is only 20 minutes away, with a great cafes, restaurants, the harbour and swimming pool, and a view from Ocean Beach Hotel which is one of the best views on the coast.
Local markets
The Farm markets are on at Killalea reserve the first Saturday/Sunday off each month 9am - 3pm
To the north you can visit The Australian Motorlife museum or pop over to Wollongong with its pristine beaches. To the South you can visit the Illawarra Light Railway Museum, or HARS (The Historical Aircraft Restoration Society) to see the Qantas 747 which resides there. Drive a little further and enjoy the towns of Jamberoo (and the Jamberoo Action Park), Gerringong and Kiama.

Cancellation Conditions
• Bookings cancelled within 7 days of the arrival date will be subject to a 100% cancellation fee.
• Cancellations received 7- 14 days prior to arrival date will be subject to a 50% cancellation fee.
• Cancellations received after 14 days prior to arrival date will be subject to a 20% cancellation fee.
Terms and Conditions
Number of guests should not exceed the number stated on your confirmation notice or email.
Parties and functions are prohibited. The price charged is for domestic use only and not commercial. Accordingly this rate does not allow for the extra wear associated with functions in terms of cleaning, garbage removal, wear and tear repairs etc.
Disturbance to our neighbours including excessive noise is prohibited and may result in termination of rental.
Departure – the property should be left in a similar state to its condition on arrival. Please remove all rubbish and place in bins provided, please load all utensils and dishes into dishwasher and turn on.
Check in is from 3pm, check out is prior to 10am to allow time to prepare the property for the next guests.
Guests of tenants must vacate by 9.30pm.
Pets are not allowed.
Directions
From the corner of Marshall Mount & Calderwood roads it is approx 3.4 km's to our mailbox hut. Travel from this point along Calderwood road, it veers right and down over a concrete causeway and up a short tarmac road over a cattle grate to our mailbox hut. Stay to the right of the hut, Travel for 900 metres to the top of the hill,(Grey gates on your right at the top of the hill is our neighbour), continue 100 metres up the gravel road to your destination. (The road to the accommodation is a private farm road and is made up of tarmac, concrete and gravel. If you are unsure of driving on farm roads, we are only to happy to come down and assist you.)
