3 Bedroom Place in Salvagnac-Cajarc

The 19C traditional limestone farmhouse has been carefully rebuilt from a ruin to a high standard keeping the features but being in the modern world .
The building is on two levels with 3 double bedrooms.
On the first floor there are two bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, ( one with bath and one with shower.)
A third double bedroom is on the mezzanine with curtains for privacy. Access is by stairs from the large airy sitting room.
The sitting room leads to a big fully equipped kitchen/dining room with dishwasher, gas cooker and large monastry table with ample seating for 6 plus woodburner (wood available, hopefully not needed).
On the same level there is a shower /laundry room with large shower, washing machine and 3rd toilet. there is a study area with the stairs leading to the first floor.
The large west facing covered terrace is accessed from the sitting room and has a barbecue area with plancha. From here are long reaching views and fantastic sunsets.
The stone built, above ground pool is accessed from the terrace with a gate for security . There are internal steps in the pool.
There is a large slightly sloping grassy field belonging to the property and the cottage is surrounded by areas with flowerbeds and also a large area of limestone paving.
There are various shady areas equipped with tables and chairs and sunbeds and many cushions .
There is also unlimited parking around the cottage or various barns opposite the cottage.

Summary: La Boissanade is a magical place , we became very attached to the house , we loved its tranquility and yet a short drive to the town of Cajarc. You can see the love and care that Carrie our host has put into making the house feel like home , it has a personal feel while providing all the household items required for a comfortable stay. The garden , pool and sound of the animals and birds all helped to make it a memorable stay. Thank you Carrie

Summary: We had a wonderful time here. Stig and Carrie could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The house felt very homely and ‘real’, and the sense of peace and quiet was just what we were looking for in order to relax and enjoy the countryside and surrounding villages. Best of all was barbecuing on the terrace each evening whilst the sun set (glorious skies each night) and then lying in the garden watching the stars. The pool was an added bonus for cooling off. Comfy beds and very well equipped kitchen made for the perfect stay. Would highly recommend La Boissonade. Many thanks again to Stig and Carrie.

Summary: We had a wonderful time here. The house is gorgeous, very well-equipped and with a comfortable laid-back feeling. It also stayed cool inside even during the heatwave. Outside, the views from the large back terrace and the pool are lovely, you can see for miles yet it is also totally private. The location is great for visiting the many interesting sites, towns and villages and you can even do nice walks directly from the house. The owners were very welcoming and helpful and they have created a lovely place to stay that we will recommend to our friends.

Summary: We fell in love with this place and recommend it very highly. Beautifully renovated, with the charm and character of a historical farmhouse, and the comforts of a modern house. Lovely deep back porch, very quiet (except the occasional bray of a neighboring donkey or cows being paraded out to a back field), lots of places around the property to sit and read or relax, also plenty of space and comfortable furniture inside. Well situated for exploring the area, including prehistoric caves, dolmen, Romanesque churches, medieval towns, gardens, night skies full of stars, etc. Well equipped with washing machine, dishwasher, towels, etc. (internet is generally good, but sometimes a bit slow or uneven—not uncommon in rural France, especially satellite connections.) For anglophones: the owners are originally British, and the house is well stocked with novels and reference works. Minor caveats: it is essential to have a car, and to be comfortable with navigating twisty & narrow roads. (There are multiple markets, grocery stores, bakeries, restaurants, etc. within striking distance, but all do require driving, as do more ambitious outings than strolling down the road.) Also, the pool is small; very refreshing on a hot day but for splashing and soaking rather than swimming.

Summary: Surrounded by lovely countryside and attractive villages. Lots to see and do if you can tear yourself away from the terrace and pool. House clean and comfortable, easily big enough for 6 adults and equipt to a very high standard. Supermarkets bakers bars and restaurants within easy reach by car. Fabulous spot for a get away from it all holiday!
