Summary: Wondefrul family owned and operated hotel located just 30 minutes North of Platteville. Cozy place that fit our needs. Definately would stay here again.

Summary: This hotel was a big disappointment. They do not clean the rooms during your stay. I had to ask for fresh towels after two days and they gave me one more wash cloth, hand towel and bath towel, no fresh bath mat. There is never anyone at the front desk. You have to call a number if you need anything. The HVAC in the rooms is substandard. The window AC unit had to be set to 76 degrees (it was 80 degrees outside) because at 70 or 72 degrees if was freezing in the room. At night I froze because any heat was too hot. Leaving the unit off, the room would get to hot. None of the windows opened or were in working order.

Summary: This is a very charming hotel, very clean and elegant. Seems like the air conditioner wasn't working properly. We couldn't get the fan to stay on. If we come to this area again we'll stay again.

Summary: This is a classic old hotel. It is a little ragged from wear, but it was clean and comfortable. And the house was friendly and helpful. This was a safe warm place to beduring a snowstorm.

Summary: The hotel is a very unique place, we enjoyed the historic atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and the room was very nice. We will definitely return.

Summary: This little hotel is a nice step back in time to the turn of the last century. Everything is quite simple, but provided for. There's a front desk cage that isn't occupied, but you just call and a friendly person will check you in. Upstairs, there's a nice Fennimore history book, along with the "Coffee Shop" that has what you need to make coffee in your room, along with tea. Also provided are earplugs in case you're staying street-side (Highway 61). I didn't use the earplugs as the traffic dies down into the evening and night time. I was street-side and when I heard it, it was more like the quiet hum of car going by. The rooms aren't the generic hotel rooms you'd stay in within a city or suburb, uniquely old hotel. The only out-of-place accoutrement (other than modern basics like TV, microwave, coffeemaker) is the chuegy box on top of the toilets. Everything else gives a nice feel for 1905. If you're passing through town and need a place to stay, this is a good choice.
