Positive: Old colonial style building with a lot of potential.

Negative: Lots of mosquitoes in the bedrooms which made it hard to sleep well. The property is run down and the staff don’t speak much English

Positive: This is unique opportunity to stay in a historic former family home of a wealthy family. Most of us would never have a chance to stay in such a place. It is also beautifully located. The horseback ride was spectacular and very comfortable for a novice rider. The staff were incredibly kind as everyone seems to be in Cafayate. Brush up on your Spanish though!

Negative: While the family has been kind enough to open up the home as a hotel, they really need to spend whatever it costs to get the pool functional. The pool would be a great feature but the filters are not operating and it is dirty and even after cleaning there is debris on the bottom. The water was at least clear but it’s not acceptable in its current state.

Positive: Really beautiful colonial-style building and room connected to a working vineyard (and they offer a really good free tour). The pool is great and offers great mountain views. Unlike many hotels, you can use the pool at any time! The rooms are large and the beds are big and comfortable.

Negative: The internet is extremely slow (unusable at times). The pool was a bit dirty and slightly green in some parts. There were no labels during breakfast so everyone was mixing up the thermal bottles for coffee and hot water. The vineyard tour was great but the guides couldn't speak English.

Summary: Really beautiful colonial-style hotel with relaxing nature and connected to a working vineyard.

Negative: The pool was very poorly maintained. Staff did not assist with luggage. No staff at breakfast. Breakfast was very basic. Rooms had an odd smell - old dusty/musty. Wine tour only available in Spanish, there were not even notes we could read in English. No restaurant on site for evening meal.
