Positive: Such a cozy Inn! Perfect walking distance to the beach. The rooms were dreamy and historic. And the beds had the most comfortable mattress! Always much appreciated on vacation! I will never ever forget this vacation in the OBX. I think this will be my yearly vacation spot.

Positive: Lovely place , old school vintage vibes , hard to find someone to get ice and could never get the TV to work at night for in bed viewing . Otherwise clean spacious room.
Negative: One of the lamp cords had black electrical tape on it, didn’t look safe. One of the electrical switch plates had feel almost off it too did not look safe , TV would not connect to WI-FI so that I could watch anything.

Positive: Beautiful property! Felt like a mini resort. So tranquil and peaceful. Loved the grounds and wrap around porch. Fantastic location and parking. Loved the private beach access too. Made it so easy!!

Positive: Friendliness of staff. Old beach feel & historicalness of the property. Conveniently located. Loved that they provided beach chairs!
Negative: Dining area needs a bit of an update, maybe just paint the dining tables & chairs either black or white to freshen them up, clean windows to brighten up the space. The gardens around the inn really need to be cleaned up… lots of dead overgrowth. Landscaping is wonderful, just tired. Same in pool area. Also decking around pool & furniture could use a good power wash & cleaning. Some power wash or fresh white paint on the exterior inn trim & stair railings would go a long way to freshen it and help bring it back to how it should look. A big problem is the deck walkway over to the beach… very overgrown & needs to be trimmed back to make a clear path. Also there is a root growing up between two of the boards that is a huge trip hazard. My friend that was staying with me actually tripped over it & fell hitting her head & spraining her elbow. She had a huge goose egg on her head & after icing resulted in a giant bruise. The steps on the walkway up the dune are covered in sand & very hard to navigate especially when carrying beach gear! The downside of the dune to the beach is very steep & could really use a blue mat walkway that gives you way better grip going up or down, like the hotel next door. I love the old inn! I have been vacationing in Nagshead since 1967 & it holds a place near & dear to my heart. Hope you can address some of these things to improve the property. I would love to come back & experience the improvements. Thank You!
