Experience the best of the Australian bush and Sydney city life with a holiday in this spacious open plan waterfront cottage, located on the shores of beautiful Fisherman's Bay in the Royal National Park, within 50kms from the Sydney CBD and just 40 minutes from Sydney Airport.
Whether you are traveling from overseas to experience Sydney and the surrounds or just want a great short getaway without having to travel miles, Hideaway Cottage is just for you.
Accommodation consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 with Queen sized beds, another large bedroom with 2 single beds and lounge area. There are 2 large bathrooms, one downstairs with spa, plus an extra outdoor rock shower. The living area has an open fire place and the fully equipped gourmet kitchen will delight the most fastidious of travellers. There is an additional oil heater for the Winter months
Whether you enjoy swimming, snorkeling, fishing, kayaking, bush walking, discovering ancient Aboriginal rock carvings, biking, tennis, whale watching or just relaxing over a bar-b-q on the huge wrap around deck and taking in the fantastic view, this holiday will recharge your batteries and give you an experience you will never forget. You might even try your hand at hang gliding at Stanwell Tops. Take a walk on the Art Trail on the first Sunday of each month and visit local artists in residence at your leisure. There are also two surf kayaks for your use during your stay.
From stocking the pantry for your arrival, to organising a local baby sitter, every assistance will be given to ensure that you have a truly wonderful holiday experience. Summary: We really enjoyed our stay. The house is very spacious and the location with the view of the bay is perfect. The children really enjoyed feeding the birds in the morning and evening. We did lots of lovely walks in the Royal National Park.

Summary: Serene location. Very clean and well appointed house. Communication with laelie was very easy. We had a wonderful holiday and did not want to leave. Summary: We absolutely loved our stay in Maianbar. The secluded location of the property made for a perfect getaway. Located in the Royal National Park our family enjoyed lots of hikes during the day and then relaxed in the comfortable house in front of the fire place at night. Each morning and evening we were greeted by the gorgeous wildlife and hand feed the birds. The house had everything we needed for our 5 day stay. The beds were comfortable and bathrooms neat and clean.

Summary: Had a nice week down in Bundeena, the place is very peaceful and in a quiet location. Great house with nice big balcony and wonderful views. You do have to drive to go anywhere though as it is down quite a long winding dirt road that does need some maintenance. It would be fine if you were in an SUV but my car is quite low to the ground and was certainly scraping everytime I went out.

Summary: Location was well described and well equipped. Heaps of general pantry staples, linen etc. Upstairs bedroom and ensuite worked perfectly for my Mum, whilst my husband and I had the middle level bedrooms with the kids. We used the kayaks, which the boys thought was the highlight and kayaked across to Maianbar sand bar and enjoyed a day out there. We took the boys crab hunting, bushwalking (from the front door), kayaking, swimming and hopped in the car for the short journey to Bundeena and thr rest of the National Park. Very enjoyable few days.

Summary: A truly special place to stay well off the beaten track and in amongst the lovely gum trees. This home has beautiful views of Fisherman’s Bay from the verandah, kitchen/living area and upstairs bedroom. Kookaburras, king Parrots, lorikeets and Magpies visit daily. Super comfortable, clean, unique and well appointed home with everything you could need. The beds were super comfy! We mistakenly left the kayaks to the last day but didn’t end up taking them down to the water as it was quite windy that day. We would definitely have used them if we had have been there a bit longer. We enjoyed nearby beaches, a bushwalk and a barbecue at Bonnievale. Sunsets on the pontoon (a not too strenuous and pleasant walk down to pontoon) were just perfect. Friendly and responsive communication from Laelie. Definitely would stay again!

Summary: What an idyllic setting! Beautiful views of the water, surrounded by trees and birdlife. Our party of 5 found the house to be very spacious and comfortable. Beds are good quality and the kitchen is large and well appointed. As another review commented, it is better than the photos. We were lucky with the weather and had high tides in the morning - spent many hours swimming and kayaking off the jetty. There are beautiful walks in the area and it is very peaceful (no traffic noise!). I would really love to come again and would definitely recommend this wonderful spot. The owner was super helpful and excellent to deal with. Five stars!
