Positive: The location was excellent, close to long term parking, train station and all amenities

Negative: The property appeared clean, but on closer inspection there were areas for improvement, such as dirt in drawers, cobwebs, the glassware and crockery needed washing before use. Requiring immediate attention is the bathroom door which did not shut as the latch was stuck. I would suggest the property needs a deep clean, the shower plug hole was slow to drain!

Summary: Pleasant stay close to all that Penzance has to offer, areas mentioned above need addressing

Positive: Convenient to the train and bus stations, spacious bedroom, lots of kitchenware if you wanted to prepare meals. We enjoyed Penzance and area.

Negative: The flat was freezing cold when we arrived with no instructions how to operate the heaters. The carpet had a musty smell. The entrance is shared with some shops then up 2 flights of grubby stairs. The wifi was very spotty. No instructions on what to do with garbage and recycling.

Summary: Would return to Penzance but not to this flat

Positive: Location was the top reason why I chose this property. The price was very reasonable as well. Easy access to everything.

Negative: the steps was necessary but not liked by a woman who doesn't travel light ever. the wifi was not available in the bedroom and was patchy in the couch area. best position is on the dining table and kitchen.

Negative: It took me over two hours before I could get into the property because it wasn't obvious which of the four key boxes on the building contained the correct keys and the boxes were jammed. No one could initially get hold of the owner. Some of the staff at Sykes Cottages were helpful and tried to help during the various phone calls I made to try to resolve the issue, but one was curt and unhelpful - and didn't ring back when she promised to. The owner needs to label the various key boxes around the building so visitors know which one relates to the property they have booked and the boxes need to be serviced/renewed.

Summary: Great once I managed to get over the nightmare of trying to get in.

Positive: The host was very nice on the first day and gave us some welcome treats like bread and milk, and even let us check in a bit earlier than scheduled. The flat has good amenities and is quite spacious — it’s suitable for up to four people, I’d say. For those who don’t like noise, the flat is located on one of the city’s main streets, so sometimes you can hear people talking and cars passing by, but that didn’t bother me — I actually like it. The bed is excellent — it makes you want to stay in it all day. There are cleaning supplies and a washing machine, which is really helpful.
