Positive: The location is stunning and the staff were fab as always.
Negative: The spa wasn't as good as previous visits. The indoor hot tub on the second floor wasn't open and the outdoor hot tub was dirty and cold. I assume it''s due to constant use and the cover not being out back on. We couldn't sleep at night due to the heat and the noisiest fan in the world didn't help. Surely for the price they can invest in some decent quiet fans. The breakfast wasn't the high tea style anymore, the Continental breakfast is more buffet style. It's all still there but there was something nice about how it was presented before. Everything just seems a little bit worse than our previous visits and not sure we will be back.

Positive: The location is beautiful. The staff are pleasant and the food was nice.
Negative: This is definitely NOT a 5 star hotell for a number of reasons. The spa, needs updated and cleaned. The outdoor jacuzzis , we struggled to work. One was Luke warm the other slightly warmer but you couldn’t spend time in them. The indoor pool had a poor job of repairing tiles. There were clumps of clay at the end of the pool where the said repair had been attempted. The is a build up of mould and rust at the bottom of the pillars near the indoor pool. The wallpaper up to the changing rooms was chipped. Three of the female lockers in the female chafing area were broken with broken door hinges. Near the spa area was a bin, under the trees required to be emptied. It was full of dog litter bags and had been left on top of the bin. Inside the hotel, there were plates left outside hotel rooms for a number of hours which was untidy looking. Our room was lovely however a small wooden unit inside our room was worn. The paint had chipped off and is not of 5 star standard. There is a distinct lack of staff. The lounge bar was not staffed and we wait a while for bar staff to arrive and when they did they only had a drinks menu and not food despite asking for it. Overall it’s a lovely location but I cannot emphasise enough this is not 5 star standard, at best more like 3 star.
Summary: Relaxing but not 5 star.

Positive: Picturesque property along the lake, with beautiful views and a cozy/comfortable setting overall. Rooms were very spacious and luxurious while the facilities in the property added to the old world charm. They even offer a complimentary pickup & drop from the train station. It is also very easy getting in and out of Pitlochry City by foot and comfortable connectivity to nearby towns & Aberfeldy distillery if you have a car.

Negative: Service was poor on multiple occasions 1, Saturday evening service - 2 hrs or so for 2 courses, wrong food delivered, empty plates sat for 25 mins before being cleared and offered dessert etc 2, Sunday breakfast took over 1hr 20mins - they lost track of who ordered what and where basically calling out orders for people to claim. Had finished continental breakfast and porridge before drinks arrived - after chasing them up. This was common amongst all diners waiting 3, A used breakfast tray was put outside our room, concerige had said he would get it moved at 4 pm, had to remind reception at 7:30 to have it removed
