Positive: The location, inside the old Abbaye de Fontevraud. You can visit the side outside the normal opening hours. Easy parking. The quiet surroundings.
Negative: The first room we were given (n° 222, identified as a "suite" on booking.com) was in a sort of container installed on the second floor of a reconverted former chapel. The ceilings within that container were low, it was dark (the window in the master bedroom was not larger than 15 cm), and the room temperature was 28 degrees celsius. There was no air conditioning. Sleeping in this room would have been impossible (the outside temperature was around 37 degrees). Against payment of a fee, we were then put in a smaller room in the garden, apparently the only rooms with AC. That room was ok (although small and without a fridge/minibar) - we were however slightly suprised that the owners would try to lodge you first in a room where sleeping is impossible (especially as, pursuant to the staff, the property was not fully booked). A commercial gesture would certainly have been appreciated.
