The former village grocery "Loubatieres" welcomes you in a setting which harmoniously mixes the authenticity of old stones (17th century) and period furniture, with functional comfort of a modern and highly original restoration. Its large roof terrace offers a unique view (open and unoverlooked) on the valley and surrounding countryside.
Region's specialties purchased on the Sunday market can be cooked with the barbecue on the terrace, where you can also enjoy sunbath or refresh yourself in the pool which transparent side can be seen from the living room (see enlarged photos). This transparent swimming pool creates a particular atmosphere around the billiard and will inspire many distractions for the entire family. The equipment quality and the bedrooms layout, (each bedroom has its own independent full bathroom), will allow everyone to live its holidays at own pace.
The village is at the intersection of Bordeaux and Cahors winyards, and is surrounded by sunflowers fields. There are many touristic attractions and leisure activities within close range (water park in Montaigu, equestrian center, boocce ground, acrobranche, tourist airplane) and in the region around (golf, most beautiful villages of France, ...).

Summary: We went as a family of 4 (one 19 year old and one 16 year old) and my Mum 73). The house is so spacious and well equipped with all the essential items. Everything is in good working order too. All of the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and lots of hanging space for clothes etc. The roof top pool is fantastic and it is lovely being able to listen to village life (and sometimes live music from the village restaurants) from the roof. There is an extra little kitchen on the top floor which is really useful as you don't need to keep going up and down for drinks. There is a pool table downstairs which was great fun in the evenings. The 'café du centre' is great for Wi-Fi, general advice, good food and company. It is a real centre for the community and always has people there. The tarte au citron was the best I've ever tasted. They often have live music too which was really nice. The other restaurant which is equally close (almost next door to the property) called 'Head of Garlic' (Tete d'ail) is absolutely fantastic. One night there was a guitarist and violinist playing whilst we ate. The food both nights was delicious and very French. The ambiance was perfect and again typically French. The menu is limited but this made the experience far better, as all of the food was so fresh and beautifully cooked. This was my favourite restaurant and well worth a visit. The village of Roquecor is clean, pretty and really interesting. It has an interesting 'cave' walk; a lovely pottery shop; a home made French soap shop; a small grocery store; a Sunday market with an artisan butcher...and a general sense of community. I strongly recommend the location and the property and we would all love to return one day soon.
