Positive: We loved it! 12 out of 10. Freya Farm is what we hoped to find coming to Iceland, beautifully located in the countryside, amazing landscape, super clean and nicely decorated (new) rooms and welcoming hosts. / Easy to find with location info on booking.com. A part of the road is without tarmac, don't worry, it's very easy to drive. Don't get confused by "Steinsholt" in address, just follow coordinates (google maps). Not far off the Golden Circle, it took us about 20 min. from the Secret Lagoon. / There IS BREAKFAST available. / Our host Jon offered us a tour on the farm (gorge, waterfall, horses) and was kindly answering our many questions about Iceland. / This stay is a unique experience and we highly recommend it!

Positive: This hotel is located on a beautiful, private farm. The property has only a few rooms, so it never feels crowded. Service was excellent, and the breakfast was delicious, served in a beautifully designed dining room with stunning views of the farm and surrounding mountains. The room was good too. The highlight of our stay was when the owner gave us a private tour of the farm. He took us to a hidden canyon located in his farm—a breathtaking spot we were lucky to have entirely to ourselves. We also spent some time with his horses, which made the experience even more memorable. Spending time with him, hearing about the history of the farm and of Iceland, and receiving thoughtful recommendations for the rest of our trip made us feel truly welcome. The hidden canyon experience, not advertised anywhere, made our stay very special and memorable. Overall, this was a perfect combination of natural beauty, warm hospitality, and exceptional value for the price.

Positive: We were treated so well at Freya farms! Jon and his wife are super hospitable and thought about our comfort at every turn during our stay. As soon as we arrived we were welcomed and then upgraded to a room with a view of the surrounding creek, hills and mountains. The area is an idyllic farmstead and we loved it! The rooms were very comfortable too. The hosts also made us a lovely breakfast and gave us traveling tips. We loved going to the nearby grand Gulfoss waterfall, the Secret Lagoon and Selfoss. 10/10 hotel to stay, we would definitely stay again and recommend to others!

Positive: the breakfast like everything at Freya Farm was thoughtfully curated with veggies, cheeses, breads, pastries, and was elegantly presented. Everything was fresh and delicious. Coffee, espresso, and other drinks provided just what we needed.
Negative: We arrived later only because we had relied solely on Google maps and not reviewed directions provided by the host. Our host saw us coming up the road hesitatingly and called to help us navigate the final stretch into the property!
Summary: Icelandic hospitality at it's finest- genuine, restorative, very comfortable, with stunning scenery.

Positive: Everything was great – we were very happy with our stay. We chose the farm because of its location, on the way to the Landmannalaugar. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, and the surrounding countryside was beautiful. The owner was kind, welcoming, and attentive. He offered us a tour of the farm, which includes a stunning canyon and a herd of horses we were allowed to pet. Staying at the farm was a wonderful choice – we’d be happy to come back again.
