Summary: Our recent VRBO lake vacation was a true gem! The kids had a blast naming and feeding the ducks, riding the float on the lake, and zooming down the slide. Paddle boating, dockside fishing, and stand-up paddleboarding kept them endlessly entertained. While they enjoyed their adventures, my wife and I cherished quiet mornings with coffee on the dock, basking in the stillness of the lake. Cooking on the grille and smores on the firepit were a breeze, but we also savored local restaurants. What truly stood out was the chance to disconnect from electronics and bond as a family over card games, board games and conversations. The lake was a tranquil oasis, offering privacy and a serene atmosphere. The kids' joy at feeding the ducks every morning warmed our hearts. We also visited a nearby marina for tubing, an absolute blast! Jackie, our host, was attentive, checking on us during and after our stay, ensuring everything was perfect. Though there were some "lake life" quirks, they only added to the experience's charm. We all agreed that a lake vacation trumps our usual busy trips to the shore or Disney.
