Hidden under the shadow of Ta' Kola Windmill and meters away from the Ggantija Temples is a paradise for rest and relaxation. Ir-Razzett by the Windmill, a 300 year old farmhouse, is located in the characteristic village of Xaghra, Gozo, where you can hide away in our tranquil haven or walk out to the local cafe to experience some of our culture.
Public Transportation bus stops are across the street form our property, with direct transportation to Ramla Bay, Marsalforn Bay and Mgarr Ferry port, and to Victoria Bus Terminus from where one can make connection to anywhere in Gozo.

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay. The pool was a bit small for 13 persons but was enough for 3 children.

Summary: We arrived with a group of 10 people a day too early...but no problem, we could stay. Location was perfect, at the end of the street is Giantji tempel and a half hour walk to the sea. Supermarket around the corner. Swimming pool is clean and very nice (not for small children, very deep). Alfred is a prima host. When there is a practical problem, he reacts very fast. beautiful house with all rooms with airco and bathroom.

Summary: The photos do not do it justice! You enter through a walled gateway next to the windmill. Then enter a private walled garden with this beautiful pool and the famhouse in front of you. Delightful! The pool is big enough for three lilos and an inner tube and all of our family. 4 bed rooms are on the first floor. 2 bedrooms on the ground floor. There is a huge lounge/dining room with a smart tv. Good kitchen space too. Shady areas to sit away from the pool. Two roof terraces. Washing machine, all mod cons! Albert has installed modern and effective air conditioning throughout. Albert and Lily are friendly and very helpful. We had a BRILLIANT time staying here. Lots of different levels and areas to explire within the property. Highly recommended this property. Shops just down the road, bakery etc Many restaurants to choose from on the main square of this village. Playground, historic windmill and temple worth a visit too!

Summary: This is a great place to stay in the center of a lovely quiet historic village. The villa has 6 large rooms all tastefully decorated. It is exactly as you would imagine an old Gozoan farm house to be. There is no air conditioning but each room has a fan and the thick walls and careful use of the windows will keep you from getting too hot, even during the recent heatwave. There is also a reasonably sized and deep pool and several secluded shaded areas to keep cool and 2 sun terraces to get warm! The kitchen is well equipped with a gas range, a large fridge freezer and plenty of china etc. There is also an outside barbecue. There are tables in the lounge for meals if you want to eat inside or tables by the pool to eat outside. There are a few quirks - in that you might have to switch the shower and the tap on in the rooms to get water pressure. But, that is not too much of a difficulty when most rooms have en-suite. Not all of the rooms are lockable or in the same part of the house but you are in a big enclosure with high walls, so we never felt unsafe. Alfred and Lilly are just wonderful lovely people and solved and minor issues as quick as possible. They were friendly and nice to talk to - as were most of the Gozoans that you meet. Xaghra is NOT a nightspot but there are good restaurants in the square although most a ££ rather than £. Beer and wine is cheaper especially if you go to the nearby band club. There is lots of archaeology and history to see very nearby. E.g the caves, the neolithic monuments and the basillica. The buses stop next to the villa or very close by. It is easy to get to Victoria or Marsalforn by bus. Taxis are not easy to come by in Xaghra, but they are easy to get back. There are numerous shops, a supermarket, a pharmacy, a carry out, florists and electrical stores close by. Just be careful of opening hours. Special recommendation to the Hideaway Restaurant though it is only open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and the Cafe Reale (for Cake and iced coffee) in the afternoon. The villa comfortably sleeps 12 (14 probably) and would be great for an extended family - with great places to play!
