Cottage of 40 m2 in old house of 200 m2, located 3 minutes from downtown Montrichard on foot.
In this house, bought in mid-2017 abandoned and part of which is still being restored, rental of a comfortable cottage for 2 to 4 people. Exposed stone walls or whitewashed, beams, beautiful fireplace.
Typical setting of the region (cellars in the rock, well, press, bread oven) on an enclosed courtyard of 100 m2 where cars and motorbikes can be parked. Note: if desired, the motorbikes can be parked in one of the cellars dug in the tufa surrounding the courtyard.
Access to the gîte is from the courtyard by a staircase of 5 dressed stone steps (no disabled access).
Upon entering, a large living room includes the living room, with convertible corner sofa (130 x 200 bed) and TV, and a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, oven, hob, fridge, table for 4 people. and chimney (inactive).
A small corridor leads to the bathroom with walk-in shower, the separate toilet and a bedroom (160 x 200 cm bed).

The house is located 2 minutes from the train station, 10 minutes from the swimming pool or the beach (Montrichard has a beautiful sandy beach, very busy in season), 30 minutes from the Beauval zoo (first zoo in France known for its pandas, its hippo aquarium, its white tigers) and 15 minutes from the Château de Chenonceau (also accessible from the house by bike in 20 minutes via the landscaped banks of the Cher). First French cycling tourism destination, along the Loire and the Cher.

Summary: Delightful facilities, modernistic and easily usable. TV and Wi.Fi, exellent, and kitchen appliances plentiful, both the bedroom and bathroom very pleasing with facilities, and the Gite is within a close contact with all the town facilities, and close by the river walks. We enjoyed a lovely week and Florence was an exellent host.

Summary: This was a fantastic place, much more than we expected - and as it was very hot during the week we especially appreciated the thick walls of the old house which kept at least part of the heat outside. And after all: Florence is such a charming host, we felt at home immediately!

Summary: Typical gite in a great location for visiting many chateaux and the attractions on the rivers Loire and Cher. The host, Florence was very welcoming. Everything needed for an enjoyable stay we would highly recommend this gite if visiting the Loire Valley.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay. The property was clean, convenient to local attractions and had all the utensils required to make our own meal. We were however very disappointed in the bath towels. We only received 2 and they were mismatched and rough. Also, this is the only destination I have had to make up my own bed upon arrival.

Summary: Quiet location with private parking and courtyard. The gite is beautifully modernised and very well equipped. It is a short walk to the supermarket and local restaurants and shops. We did a day trip to Tours by train as the station is only 10 minutes walk. The owner Florence was very helpful and a pleasure to meet. Highly recommended.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay, finding the location perfect for exploring local walls through National Forest, wineries and nearby château. The house was very clean and was nice to have secure parking on site. Only drawback was there was not a washing machine as listed but Florence was quick to come up with an option for us. Would definitely stay again.

Summary: Characterful property that's been sympathetically restored and is very comfortable. Parking directly outside and the gate to the road can be locked to keep bikes etc secure. The town itself is very pretty and has a great beach by the side of the river. Good for swimming, paddleboarding etc. I believe that paddleboards, kayaks etc can be hired if needed. We took bikes and followed the path alongside the river to reach Chenonceaux Chateau. A great trip that's probably about 10 miles there and back. Well placed for visiting other Chateaux in the region and the owner, Florence, is very nice indeed. Highly recommended.
