The house awaits you in this small village in Drôme Provençale, located 15 km from Montélimar and 15 km from Dieulefit.
(15 km from the A7 motorway exit)
It is terraced on one side at the exit of the village, but not overlooked. You will recognize it by its colored facade and covered with ivy.
On the square next to the house, shaded by plane trees are bowls and a pool with its fresh and drinkable water.
The village festival takes place on the second weekend of August (Garage sale, children's games, exhibition of old tractors, boules competition, snacks)
You will find 3 km the village of Bégude de Mazenc and its many shops: Bakery / pastry shop, Butcher / caterer, Tobacco press, U express, gas station, restaurant, pharmacy.
The Bégude de Mazenc municipal swimming pool is open in July and August.
Our region is rich in color: lavender, sunflowers and flavor: artisanal meats, wines, nougats.
You can discover the Provencal markets in the surrounding villages, that of Nyons (30km) is a must.
A few km away you will have the pleasure of discovering our hilltop villages, the Château de Mme de Sévigné in Grignan and for bicycle lovers the famous Mont Ventoux is 1 hour 30 minutes from the house.
You can spend a day at the sea, the nearest seaside resort is 1 hour 30 minutes from the house by motorway.
Many hiking and mountain biking trails start from the village.
It's up to you to invent the rest to have a good weekend, good times, good holidays!
The house is carefully equipped and decorated in the "family spirit" style
You can take your meals on one of the two terraces and enjoy a small enclosed garden well appreciated for its freshness in summer.

Summary: Very nice, well equipped village house, with two lovely terrace seating/dining areas. From the photos we had expected a bigger garden. The lounge was very comfortable and stayed reasonably cool even when the outside temperature was in the mid 30s. The one drawback was the bathroom, which had diirect entry from both bedrooms, so creating privacy issues. Fine for a couple with young children, but for adults, or even teenagers, it could be difficult. Careful negotiations needed! We ate outside all the time, but the indoor dining area was good too. The locals we met were very friendly and welcoming. There is a restaurant close by, with takeaway options and a large outdoor seating area. We also found the municipal swimming pool in La Begude 3 kms away an excellent facility . La Begude also has a reasonable supermarket, two bakers and a couple of cafes. Overall, the house provides a very comfortable place to stay in a lovely part of the Drome and , with the one reservation about the bathroom, we really enjoyed our stay.
