Positive: The house is lovely, in the middle of the old city. The staff is very nice and let us arrive earlier and leave later than expected : we really appreciated that ! Also, the room was very comfortable and we had a beautiful view ! We had a great time !
Negative: Just one thing : the doors (entrance and bedrooms) are very loud and thus, we could not sleep in in the morning because they were always slamming.
Summary: Very nice, we would come back !

Positive: Central location. Did not meet any staff but they responded to phone calls. ground floor room was great. Very clean and great view to garden and canal. Fantastic location in old town. Good kitchen and clean shared bathrooms.
Negative: Did not feel like a hostel to me. No people to check in and no orientation. Felt distant from the community. When I went into town it was friendly and hostel facilities were good but nobody to communicate with face to face at the hostel.The museum people next door were great to deal with and so were the people at the church.
Summary: Good facilities but no face to face contact with staff.

The building is a cultural monument, and has all the necessary amenities for a short stay, assuming you're mostly into going out in nature. Negative: Maintenance was outdated, and the bathroom was never clean during our stay.

Positive: This hostel is an ideal base for exploring this picturesque town. We stayed in room number 2, which had two comfortable single beds, a desk and chairs with a view of the canal. The shared bathroom facilities along the corridors were clean and well-lit, and the kitchen was well-equipped with all the appliances you’d need to prepare meals, including a table for dining. If you prefer to cook your own food, this setup is very convenient. We appreciated how easy it was to access the keys through the key box system, which made check-in hassle-free. We opted for bed linen at an additional cost to avoid bringing our own, and this worked seamlessly. The pricing was reasonable, adding to the overall great value for money. It’s worth noting that there are two parts to the hostel—one in a historic building from the 1600s and another in a little more modern structure. Both options have their own charm, depending on what you’re looking for. The older one has a fireplace and sitting area. Overall, Vandrarhemmet Gästgivargården is a delightful and affordable place to stay, with excellent cleanliness and facilities. Highly recommended for those visiting Eksjö on a budget!

Positive: Great location, beautiful historic building.
Negative: We weren't expected on arrival (not sure what happened) so we had to ask around until we finally were able to contact the host, who came in just 5 minutes and excused himself. We got free towels and bed linen because of the wait. The room was on the ground floor with people passing by the windows, though it had black out curtains which worked fine.
Summary: Central location on a lovely little town.

Positive: No breakfast but the location was outstanding at the very heart of the wooden city. Very nice room with two windows and beautiful views over a little park and a little river.
Negative: The shared kitchen was very smal and there was just one bathroom for five rums. We paid 550 SEK for one night which I found it to be a good value for money but saw that the same room will cost 830 SEK from June 1st. I would never pay that much because of the very limited shared areas. Keep also in mind that they will charge you more if you don't bring your own sheets and towels.
