Summary: The host was very friendly and responsive. The house was as advertised and was a great place to stay for a family with a dog. Great location for visiting the observatory, Davis Mountain state park and Fort Davis national historic site, and a short drive to Balmorea State Park.

Summary: We loved the character & coziness of Casa Hermosa as well as her antiques. It had everything we needed with all the comforts of home. Ft Davis was the perfect location for all of our ventures. We ventured to the McDonald’s observatory, Carlsbad caverns, Guadalupe Mountain, then surrounding areas. Saving the Big Bend & Teralingua for last We found all your brochures to be helpful. It was dark enough for personal telescope viewing of the stars. We even saw deer in the neighborhood 🤗

Summary: Casa Hermosa was a comfortable place to escape the Texas summer heat for a week. Morning low temperatures of 62 degrees and cool evenings meant we could enjoy being outdoors during those parts of the day. The house is close enough to walk to town, but far enough from Main Street to make it quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed soaking in the view of Sleeping Lion from the Adirondack rockers on the covered porch. The house is about an 8 minute drive to Davis Mountains State Park and the Chihuahuan Desert Nature Center, and about a 35 minute drive to Balmorhea Swimming Pool; all 3 places are worthy of your time. The house has 2 comfortable beds and nice bath towels. We prefer staying in vacation rentals that have full kitchens because we really do use them. We enjoy cooking while on vacation. The kitchen counter space and kitchen storage space are quite limited at Casa Hermosa, so we found it challenging to prepare our meals, but we found a way to make it work. The house shares a common wall with the Casa Hermosa King Suite. Two different couples stayed there during the week we were there, and they were quiet and friendly. We will stay at Casa Hermosa again, and highly recommend it.

Summary: This rental was really nice, and the view of the mountains was beautiful! We had excellent communication with the owner while we were staying there. The cabin was clean and well taken care of, but we had one minor issue with pet dander. My son and husband are both allergic to dogs but usually do well with just a daily zyrtec while staying in pet-friendly places. But my son had a rough first night after playing with toys on the area rug (we realized later that it had a good bit of dog hair on it). I think it was simply overlooked because the rest of the cabin was super clean! The house is a duplex but the entrances are separated, and we never heard even a peep through the wall. And a minor thing to mention is that the ac units are located only in the bedrooms, so to cool the bathroom and living / kitchen area the doors to the bedrooms should remain open as much as possible. This wasn't an issue for us so much, as we bring portable fans when we travel :) I loved that the rental had so many extra amenities, and even offered complimentary hotel shampoo and soap, and supplied ground coffee with all the "fixings". The neighborhood is super quiet and peaceful, and the town is pretty much all closed down by 9 pm. The restaurants and grocery stores are within 5 minutes from the rental, super convenient. It was also nice to be able to simply check out and not have to follow a long list of pre-check out directions (as a lot of other rentals request). Overall we really enjoyed this rental and had a great stay!

Summary: House is clean and located in a quiet neighborhood near the high school. It is just as described in the posting, and we had a nice view of the stars at night and Sleeping Lion Mtn. during the day. Kirk, the owner, provided a helpful list of things to do in the area and he was easy to contact. We had everything we needed for our stay in Fort Davis.
