Apartment on 2 levels situated in the top floors of a building in basque style in the centre of Hendaye, nevertheless very quiet. Marvellous and unobstructed view from the generous shady balcony in the upper floor over the bay of Txingudi, the sea and the surrounding hills.
The entrance is in the lower floor with an open sleeping room (double bed), bathroom with shower and small balcony.
Spiral stairs lead to the open upper floor with a big living space (convertible sofa for two persons) with well equipped kitchen, TV, bathroom with tub. large window front to the spacious balcony with magnificient view on Txingudi bay.

Summary: This apartment is spacious, well equipped and spotlessly clean. It is nicely furnished and has great views of the coast. The hosts were very helpful and provided lots of information on what to do in the area. Hendaye is a good location for people who want to spend time in both France and Spain. The beautiful towns of San Sebastien and St Jean de Luz are only about half an hour away and well worth the drive.

Summary: The appartment is quite big, over two floors, certainly big enough for 4 people. The facilities and equipment are good and largely modern. There are many items supplied that might not be expected, such as olive oil, powder for the washing machine, liquid for washing dishes etc etc. The decor is mainly modern and many items have a good sense of style (e.g. the lights). There is a good range of information about the area, places to go and timetables for buses. Although we didn't have the weather to use it, the outside balcony space looks great, with fantastic views across the estuary. It would be useful to have a bicycle or a car as the station, ferry, beach etc. are at least a kilometre away - although there is a free shuttle bus it is only once per hour.

Summary: The property was lovely, in a great location, which was both quiet and also very close to the town centre. Nearby we found lovely local restaurants, with a supermarket and local shops all within a 5 minute walk. With the free local bus, it made getting round the town easy, allowing us to make trips to the beach / marina side of town without having to take our car. The owner was very welcoming and knowledgeable and gave us tips on the local area, along with things further afield. I would recommend using the local boat service in the marina to pop over to Hondarribia, using the little train to go to San Sebastian, but there is also enough to do / see locally to spend a few days just relaxing in Hendaye. Particularly with the great balcony in this property, ideal for relaxing with a glass of wine and looking out over the water. We can highly recommend this property and we would love to come back to explore the area more.
