Positive: Nice, big apartment, quiet. Easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. Nice landlady.
Negative: The apartment was too cold for us (18°C). Central heating couldn't be turned on ( Why?). The wood-pellet stove didn't work. Workers fixed that. (I know, we should have complained after our first unsuccessful try).

Positive: They welcomed us very kindly, providing us with all the information we needed to make our stay perfect. We really liked the eclectic style of the apartment, which featured many unique items and decorations. It felt a bit like a time capsule, as if someone had equipped the place with the most modern things in the late '90s, and it has stayed that way ever since. Valmadrera is a wonderful, peaceful place, and the beach was close by. We traveled around the lake, and I have to say that the local beach was the best. Parking was easy, with plenty of space available on a grassy area, and the view was the most beautiful. We spent hours on the terrace, it was simply wonderful. The neighbors were also very nice. We cooked some great meals, and we found everything we needed in the kitchen
Negative: We encountered a few technical difficulties: The shower cabin didn't work perfectly, for example, it wasn't possible to adjust it so that the water would only come from the handheld showerhead, and the water there didn’t heat up completely. The hairdryer in the bathroom with the shower cabin didn’t work. There was also no air conditioning, which would have been helpful during the heatwave, but we managed with the fan. However, I must note that none of this took away from the experience, and the accommodation was perfect just as it was

Positive: It was nice to relax on the balcony providing you took measures to ward off the mosquitoes - a downside of the balcony was it wasn't large enough for a table and chairs to eat at. Extremely well equipped kitchen. Bathroom facilities were excellent, although the shower was unpredictable swapping to different modes without instruction. Sabrina was an excellent host and answered all our queries promptly and well. There was a fan for each bedroom - which was brilliant!
Negative: The description said there was a washing machine, but the host does your washing for you. This is not a problem. but I would have liked to have known this as I would have preferred to do my own washing. It also said in the description that you could use the garden, but there isn't really a garden space where you can play badminton etc. There is a public recreational area at the back of the house, but the grass was too long to use it for sport. Despite these, we would definitely stay here again.
Summary: A great apartment, well located for sightseeing if you have a car.

Positive: The place was cosy and warm. The rooms were inviting. The house was clean and very spacious. We were always able to find parking across the street even at late hours.
Negative: A briefing on how to turn on the gas for the stove. We figured it out but others coming from the states/country would not know how to turn on the gas to cook.
Summary: The Host was great! The place exceeded our expectations in terms of the furnishings and space.

Positive: Good location for visiting Lake Como attractions. Good connections by bus to Lecco & Como. Bellagio area from Lecco too. The flat in the house is really nice and comfortable with great domestic facilities: everything you need to enjoy your stay in a independent family home. Sabrina, our host, is great, very friendly and always willing to help. Great advice on where to go and how to get there.
Negative: All was absolutely great!
