Get the best of 4 worlds! The Sea, the Forest, the Slopes, the Comfort: Walk down 15 min to "our" beach for beach combing or relaxation. Our rental home is surrounded by huge Fir and Maple trees. Indulge in Forest Bathing, taking in the forest with all your senses. Mount Washington is a prime destination for skiing as well as for hiking, and only 20 minutes away. While enjoying all aspects of the outdoors, you stay in a home with amazing art, tasteful contents, and skylights leading to lots of natural light. A truly off-grid eco home on well water and septic.
This executive style rental home of 2,000 sqft on 2.6 acres, recently renovated, surprises with lots of space and 100% privacy, lots of daylight from sky lights and large windows - but still is a cosy place for everybody in your group. The 2 main bathrooms just new or renovated in April 2022. A brand new kitchen with top notch appliances was installed in January 2023. You'll be amazed about the quietness and peacefulness of the surroundings! You'll experience a bright, architecturally unique home with a 1,300 sqft deck with ocean view, fully equipped kitchen and large living area. This home sleeps up to six adults.
We have a trunk with cushions for the chairs on the deck, and also a BBQ you may use. Also a picnic area and hammocks. Your hosts may be around tending to our amazing gardens, but we will not intrude whatsoever!
Walk down 15 min to the beach, visit Kitty Coleman Woodland Gardens also in walking distance - places for meditation as well for enjoying an abundance of Rhododendrons in Spring and Summer. The nearby Seal Bay Park with many trails is more than double the size of Vancouver's Stanley Park.
Several golf courses invite you, you may enjoy local spas, wine tasting at the Beaufort Winery 2 miles away, and top restaurants in neighbouring villages.
It is rural and beautiful here, but only 15 min away from the villages of Comox and Courtenay and 35 min from the City of Campbell River, where you find all amenities. We are centrally located on Vancouver Island with Victoria, Tofino or the North Island as destinations for day travels.
This is a spectacularly expansive property with plenty of privacy. While your hosts live in a small adjacent unit, you will likely never see them unless you need them. They have their own entrance and deck to their home.

Summary: We really enjoyed our time here! Jurgen's communication was excellent - very quick to respond and easy to follow instructions and recommendations. The property is gorgeous - ocean view, surrounded by trees with a large deck and yard. It was a great place for our kids to run around. The house itself is beautiful. It has a modern, yet cozy feel with lots of natural light and a very functional and comfortable space. It is well furnished with everything you need, and Jurgen also furnished it with toys, a high chair and other essential items for kiddos. Beaches, town, and forest trails are really close by. We would recommend this property to anyone and plan on returning when we are able.

Summary: This is a spectacular property. Where do I begin? The panoramic view of the ocean, the nights in the hot tub, the beautiful accommodations, the fully equipped modern kitchen, the spacious deck and beautiful grounds have made this a memorable trip for my family and myself. Jurgen and Inge are wonderful hosts and it is apparent the pride they have in the home they so graciously shared with us.

Summary: Our stay was highlighted by the gorgeous property and gardens, large deck with lounging and outdoor eating area with a variety of breathtaking views of garden, ocean and mountains. There were many lovely places to sit and read, enjoy the view, connect around the fire or lounge in the hot tub. The beach was near and we went daily to explore and move our bodies. Our hosts were generous, gracious and helpful while also remaining discreet. The home was spacious, cozy, well furnished with a wonderful layout. There wasn’t anything missing as Inga and Jurgen have incredible style and a sense of detail considering the needs of their guests. The kitchen was gorgeous; an exceptional place for us to gather and do what we love best; cook! We felt welcomed and relaxed and as if the home was our own for the stay. We will definitely return!

Summary: This is such a spacious, clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated home with a well stocked kitchen. Even though it was raining a lot we were so relaxed and happy to be there. And there's a lot to do in the outdoors nearby! Jurgen was a very responsive host. We'd definitely stay there again!

Summary: It was a bit of a challenge traversing the last few kilometers to the property due to a recent snow storm, but we so pleased when we finally got there. There was lovely, interesting art in all the rooms of the house, lots of books and games. The beds were so comfortable and cozy and the view from the hottub was amazing! The house has an airy, open feel with tons of natural light but still felt cozy with lots of different seating areas. 2 friends and I spent 3 nights and had a wonderful time. The birds in the yard provided much entertainment and a good West Coast wind storm made the house that much cozier. Jurgen was very responsive to messages, so check in was a piece of cake. We will definitely return!

Summary: Our family had a fantastic stay. An excellent location for quiet and beautiful views, and access to many hiking trails in the area as well as the beaches. We enjoyed exploring on sunny days, returning to enjoy the hot tub and a kitchen with everything we could need to prepare family meals. And also enjoyed the house on rainy days, just staying in and playing games. The beds were very comfortable. It was a great space for a family gathering. Our communications with the host were always timely, friendly and helpful. A wonderful spot! Thank you for a great stay!

Summary: By far, our best VRBO experience yet. The house was as amazing as the location. So quiet and so very peaceful. The house was spacious and thoroughly equipped and very tastefully/professionally decorated. The bed (queen) in the MBR was quite comfortable and there was tons of closet space for us to settle in nicely for our stay. The fridge did have a little noise to it but simply closing the bedroom door easily left us with total solitude for a great night's rest. The hot tub is easily and privately accessed from the MBR and integrated with the large deck. After exiting the hot tub, there's a 15m deck walkway pointed due east through the vegetation to two comfy Adirondack chairs where you can enjoy the morning sunrise or the waning sunlight on the ocean and mountains from the sunset behind you. The owners really could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. I inadvertently left a coat which they found and then took to a local office in CR where a coworker would pick it up. We can' wait to return to this amazing rental.

Summary: The home: 5 Stars This is a Lovely home. Spacious, well appointed, lots of thoughts went into this. Gorgeous property. Shower is a little small and the head needs to be replaced, but really, it's a minor detail. The Owners. 1 Star Here's the conversation/story. Late December when we book. I said. I have trouble sleeping from time to time and need a really quiet spot and maybe another bedroom. Owner: No problem. I'm the same way from time to time. Me: ( a fee days before we arrive) Remember we talked months ago about having 2 bedrooms as etc. Owner: yes 2 bedrooms open. 2 bedrooms we're open, they have 3 but lock the other up. ****I found the fridge which is situated very close to both bedrooms that he opened, loud and asked the following**** The next day: Me:. Good morning! We didn't use the smaller bedroom last night but wondering if we could open up the other bedroom that's locked. We'll still only potentially use 2 bedrooms...not the smaller one by the bathroom. As I mentioned I am a very light sleeper and the fridge is quite loud (for me). Thx so much. J Owner:On our web site we say "2 guests wanting 2 rooms pay $210/night". We practiced this in the past and I'm not sure if I had mentioned it before. You may pay the additional $50 per night of usage by e-transfer at the end. Is this ok with you? Everything else is good? Me:You gave us 2 rooms. I'm still asking for 2 rooms. Just not the ones we have. What's the issue? Owner: The point is that 2 rooms cost extra no matter which one. It's extra bedding. And cleaning. If you haven't used the small room I lock it and open the large one. What do you book in a hotel when you need a second room? In my head I say "none of your business" I contacted him around 6:30. To see when he's coming over. As you see, he has said he will open the other bedroom and lock the one I never used. He never responded so I called him. I said I'm having trouble sleeping. then they started yelling at me because they saw our licence and we're from MB. We've been on the island for 6 months. More yelling. Dr Henry says no travel. (but they accept bookings??) They can't go into the property because of covid while I'm there. They now WILL NOT open the br. Then they hung up. Then They Sent a note on VRBO app that they will open it open for $50.00 a night. They want you to pay 5 bucks for every laundry, fire and hottub you take. I'm surprised that they don't charge for flushing . He said we abused him. Yeah right.
