Welcome to the luxurious penthouse at Black Bear Lodge, which is located directly across the street from the 4 chair West Wall lift at Mt. Crested Butte. The condo's views of both the gorgeous mountain and valley below are spectacular, both summer and winter. With more than 2700 square feet, the penthouse can sleep 12 - 14 people and includes 4 spacious bedrooms + game room, each bedroom with a private bathroom and television. The penthouse consists of an extra large living area, dining area, gourmet kitchen, 2 king bedroom suites, 1 queen bedroom suite, 1 twin bedroom suite, a game room with 2 sets of twin bunk beds, and 2 twin blow up mattresses, 4.5 bathrooms, a steam shower, 3 private balconies, a utility room with a full sized washer and dryer, and an elevator that opens directly into the penthouse private foyer. The unit has beautiful custom furnishings and has been recently updated with all new fresh paint, plush carpeting and luxurious bed and bath linens. This property is well suited for a large family or several families, offering a significant amount of privacy and space for everyone.
Black Bear Lodge is a beautiful condominium complex located at the base of Crested Butte Mountain offering underground heated parking serviced by an elevator, an outdoor hot tub *****(Please note: Hot Tub & grill will be closed from 9/9/24 - 9/13/24 & 9/16/24 - 9/24/24),***** and outdoor grilling facilities.
The winter activities are second to none. With an abundance of ski runs ranging from green to extreme double black, Mt. Crested Butte offers something for every type of skier. The kids' ski programs are extensive, and the base of the mountain offers bungee jumping, tubing, and zip lining. For those more adventurous skiers, Crested Butte offers an excellent array of back country skiing.
While skiing is king in Crested Butte, the summer and fall seasons offer incredible weather and marvelous activities. Fishing, hunting, mountain biking, hiking, golfing, whitewater rafting, and numerous town activities are wonderful during the warmer months. The summer kids' programs are also incredible. Summer activities at the mountain include miniature golf, a rock climbing wall, bungee jumping, zip lining, Frisbee golf, and a ropes course. Crested Butte has also been designated the “wildflower capitol of Colorado” and the golden aspens in late September and early October make the area absolutely gorgeous. For outdoor sport's enthusiasts, the fly fishing and elk hunting are world class!

Summary: We had a wonderful time at this spot. The location to the west wall lift was a short 2-3 minute walk. Which was perfect for our group of twelve (including kids). The property was well stocked, had everything we needed plus more. The beds linens were extremely comfortable. I'm always worried about hot water for a group this size, but we had unlimited hot water for showers. The shuttle picked us up right in front of the steps, which was super convenient. Our property manager contact was extremely helpful. Helped us book some restaurants and other recommendations. Would recommend and stay again. 10/10

Summary: The condo was fully equipped. There was plenty of room for two families. The access to the Westwall lift was so easy. Great mountain vibe and very compfortable. The bus would stop right in front of the condo for us.

Summary: This was the perfect set up for our family of 4, brother’s family of 5 and my in-laws. The 2 king rooms and queen room all with private baths, was great for the 3 couples. The 4 girls (ages 8-12 years) loved the large bunk room with living area. The infant stayed in the twin bedroom in a pack n play. Paige was amazing!! She helped with shuttle recommendations to and from the airport, babysitting for the infant while the rest of us skied, and where to get baby gear - pack n play, high chair, etc. We stayed Friday-Tuesday and loved the easy access to the slopes just across the street. Definitely was the best place for our crew!

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay here. Great location. Beautiful views. They even gave us a welcome gift of handmade soda, pasta sauce and rum! The kids loved it and overall I would highly recommend the property.

Summary: The property was wonderful and it had accommodations for our entire family of eight. The kitchen had enough plates, pots and pans for us to cook. The gift bag was very thoughtful with many good items that we used and enjoyed. The only reason I gave a 4 rating for cleanliness is because the king sheets had a rip in them on one of the beds. We would definitely come back to this property the next time we vacation in Crested Butte.

Summary: We were 8 adults (4 couples) on this property and we all felt comfortable. We all had our own rooms and bathrooms, and the gathering areas (combined kitchen, dining, den) were spacious as well. And what beautiful views! Skiing was easy to get to with a quick walk across the street to catch the West Wall Lift. This base was easy to get to when done for the day. We actually were fitted for our ski rentals in the lobby of the Black Bear Lodge, where we could conveniently put our gear in the lockers provided us there. The free shuttle picked us up right across the street, so we could go just about anywhere without getting our car out of the basement garage. The host was very attentive, and called to check on us a couple of times that week to insure we had everything we needed (we did, as the prepared very well for their guests). I would definitely rent this place again.
