Summary: I had a great stay at Giellajohka. The cabin did not disappoint. It was comfortable and well equipped, and had a beautiful view of the river. The location was perfect because it allowed for day trips to other areas of Lapland. The only downside was that there were 2 camping caravans that parked about 1 meter from the cabin for 1 night and they disrupted the peacefulness of the stay. Luckily, they were only there for 1 day.

Summary: The place was perfect BUT because the rooms are by a shared kitchen and lounge it means noisy people were chatting after midnight and others up early making food. So there was only 5 hours where it was quiet enough to sleep. Also the whole building stinks of garlic and whatever guests cook or 'smoke'. Shame as it is otherwise superb

Summary: We did not use the ski slopes or their spa services since our flight came in at 6pm. We were able to check in about 30 minutes before 9pm so we were able to just go straight into our lodging and start relaxing and enjoying the views. In the morning, we were able to see that there was an reindeer farm next to us and were able to take photos of them. Their buffet breakfast was delicious. Although they did not have an overwhelming selection, but what they put out was absolutely divine and delicious.

Summary: A great place to stay if you want to see Aurora! It’s so far from any city so you get the full dark sky here, even the weakest aurora would be so vivid in this place. They have a WhatsApp group so everyone on site can share information if they see aurora. The place has a restaurant and the foods are amazing with a reasonable price! Plenty of activities you can do on site as well. Recommend to stay minimum 3/4 nights. My first 2 nights were cloudy but 3rd night was one of the best auroras in my trip.

Summary: We felt at home right from the start. The surroundings, the peace and quiet, the food, the possibility to hire skis and snowshoes, the friendliness of all the staff and of course the northern lights and reindeer right on the doorstep. Simply a dream. We would love to come back and have already recommended it to others.

Summary: I really enjoyed my stay in Giellajohka.The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The area was beautiful and peaceful and there was almost no light pollution.
