Sitting atop a bluff that provides unimpeded views of the Sound and the Connecticut shoreline, is the home with a columned front porch that cannot be beat, particularly at sunset.
The house is close to Cedar Beach, 2 miles from downtown Port Jefferson and the Port Jeff train station. You’ll love the home because of the peace and quiet that 9 acres of property offers. The house sits at the end of a long driveway that leaves you nestled among hundred year old trees and a view of the Sound that is truly mesmerizing. With private access to a private beach that is right on the Long Island Sound, you are only steps away from a relaxing stroll or a refreshing dip, depending on your mood. The home is ideal for couples and families (with kids). It's not uncommon to see a family of deer scamper across the edge of the property, or to see bunnies hopping about, or any number of birds, from Blue Jays to Cardinals to Woodpeckers. Inside the 2800 SF home, you will find a newly renovated kitchen and kitchen nook, outfitted with all new appliances. 3 full baths, one of which is newly renovated. A comfy fireplace living room, spacious dinning room, a den built for lounging about and bedrooms on the second floor, each with its own unique charm. There is also a basement with a bar and pool table, plus storage for beach amenities you may want to bring with you down to the water.
The entire home and grounds, plus beach, are all yours, save for one room in the basement, which we use for storage.

Summary: One of our favorite things about this home was the incredible views. We could see the sound from the many windows and huge porch across the back of the house, deer grazing in the yard, and huge oak trees on the property. The beach was a short walk away. This home was completely stocked with everything we needed and exceptionally clean. The beautifully remodeled kitchen allowed us to do all the cooking we wanted, and nearby restaurants recommended by the owner provided the rest. All of the rooms provided plenty of space. We felt like we had our own private retreat. The owner provided excellent communication and was immediately available when we had a question. We look forward to our next trip to Long Island and return visit to Glen Laurel!

Summary: Our family very much enjoyed our stay at Glen Laurel on the Sound. The house is beautiful and more than accommodating for our group of 6. The grounds are breathtaking with access to the beach and amazing sunsets. Jonathan provided clear instructions on how to use the TV, thermostat, dishwasher etc. We all agreed that this is a home we would happy to rent in future years.

Summary: Hidden off a long driveway, Glen Laurel is the perfect family oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Port Jefferson . Yet, it is only a short drive to Port Jeff as well as many of the other Long Island amenities like the beaches, vineyards and of course shopping. We visited Glen Laurel for 5 days for our son's wedding in Port Jefferson. The home's grounds were so beautiful it could have been used by the photographer to take wedding photos. The sunsets were simply spectacular! We got some special photos. And our grand-daughter loved the deer and bunny rabbits that enjoyed breakfast and dinner in the yard each day. Working with the homeowner was delightful. He was very responsive to our questions about the home before our arrival and checked in with us during our stay to make sure we were comfortable. He was even able to adjust the thermostat for us remotely. Our only regret was that we were not able to spend more time at the home since our son's wedding kept us busy. But we have every intention of returning for a longer stay in the future. We highly recommend this home for your next visit to Long Island. You will not be sorry ! The Tabor's
