Positive: Lovely first impression entering the hotel. The restaurant/ bar area is really nice and the food was lovely (in particular the beef & mushroom wellington with mash and gravy!) We had a suite and it was a lot bigger than expected, 2 adjoining rooms giving us plenty of space. The beds and pillows were very comfy, coffee machine, mini fridge and kettle provided along with plenty of mugs / glasses and water and crisps left which was a nice touch.
Negative: The shower was very hot? There was a warning re this. Not sure if it was me but I couldn’t turn the temperature down? The pool area was ok but was dated and the bridge leading to the hot tub in the middle smelt of damp, kids enjoyed it though and it’s not a big deal for us as we just wanted a cheap stay on our journey down south. Over all we would stay again!

Positive: Always been coming here to rest from my health but not happy this time
Negative: No charging points in room windows were dirty bath had water in it not disabled friendly had to ask for towels as there were 4 of us there were three disabled persons in my party 2 children and myself no help with wheelchair from staff up and down stairs.

Negative: Room was noisy from creaking floorboards above, and other room doors closing. All this despite requesting a quiet room as a night worker. NO air con just a noisy fan. Cleaning products (Vacuum, chemicals, mops) and room service items (Used glasses) noted as being left in public areas from evening until checkout in the morning. Various food items not available from the evening menu, NO cider only fruit cider in bottles, No 0% alcohol drinks either ! Breakfast items not being kept topped up during service.

Positive: The food was really good, the beef Wellington was really good. Staff were very friendly and helpful and provided really good service. Did not use the pool but the gym had lots of equipment to use. Good location, and great value, would stay again.
