Welcome to the Overholser Cabin! This family cabin is a wonderful option for those who enjoy all Woman Lake has to offer in addition to a wonderful view in all directions.
As you approach the guest cabin, you will be drawn to the amazing views, but first step inside to see all this log cabin has in store for your comfort – and not to worry, the large windows throughout the main level keep that view in sight! The living area offers comfortable, furnishings and a nice stone gas fireplace to cozy up to during winter nights. In the summer we have A/C and ceiling fans in the living room, loft, each bedroom. The kitchen is a pleasure to cook in with counter space for meal preparations. When you are ready for your meal, this cabin has a large dining table with seating for everyone, and is surrounded by a large window to enjoy your beautiful views. Or move outside to the deck for some outdoor dining.
The main level of this log cabin has two bedrooms and bathroom with shower. Both bedrooms have a queen bed with pine log furnishings.
Downstairs offers a third bedroom with a queen bed along with full bath with shower/tub down the hall. There is a laundry room with full-size washer and dryer.
Relax and watch the gorgeous sunsets on the wrap around deck with a beautiful outdoor fireplace to cozy up to in the evening. Listen to the loons calling each other from nearby nests. On the east side is a covered porch with a gas and charcoal grill.
Walk down the path and down the wooden steps just off the patio to the cabins own dock. A great access to the wonders of Woman Lake for fishing, swimming, boating and water activities.
Be sure to leave time for a visit to the nearby town of Longville to attend the turtle races held every Wednesday or to have a cool treat at Frosty's Ice Cream. Remember your sunscreen, it can be very sunny on main street.
No matter the time of year, our cabin is a wonderful choice for your getaway! You are in immersed in nature's backyard...
For larger groups, consider renting Overholser Lodge (a private residence) next door.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
Main: Two bedrooms with queen beds and one bathroom.
Lower: One bedroom with queen bed and one bathroom.

We're very excited to say we have added to the cabin dock another 16' section you can tie too. In 2025 the boat lift is available for your fishing boat at the dock next door. In 2026 it will be brought back to the guest cabin. It was too shallow for the lift before the 16' section was added. The lift can hold a v-hulled boat under 3,000 lbs. When it is moved back to the cabin it can be universal for a v-hull or pontoon. You must let us know if you plan on renting a boat, we need to know the size and weight. This will make sure your boat will fit safely.
When you have views you are on a hill off the water. So there are many steps to the lake. Most lots on woman lake do not have beaches, ours doesn’t either. There isn’t a public beach on woman lake because it’s not that kind of lake. Woman lake is a premier fishing lake. This is the lake where you will see eagles in the trees and loons with their little ones.
You will be responsible for any damage to our dock/lift and your boat. The property protection plan if purchased, does not cover any damages to your boat our dock/lift.

Summary: The home is beautiful, clean and has everything you need to be right at home. Only draw back we had was getting in and out with a 3/4 ton diesel and 21 foot bass boat. Road is narrow when turning down towards house and backing in driveway was a challenge as well as getting turned around to leave. Otherwise this place is for you if you’re not pulling a boat. We enjoyed our time.

Summary: We stayed for a weekend and had a great time. This cabin's location is better than the photos in many ways, it's relatively private from the surrounding cabins and has a great overlook on the lake that's partially obstructed by trees, which I thought was a good thing (less boat noise from the lake). The cabin was well stocked with what you need (soaps, toiletries), dishware and silverware, kitchen utensils. It was clean, tidy, and had enough space for our group of 7 adults. Nice appliances, and it felt cozy and cute. Some comments on the lake: The route to get there was fine for us younger adults, but likely would be harder for very young children and elderly adults, there was sections that had sloped steps and steeper stairs. The lake was swimmable from the dock, but the shoreline was rocky until about 5ft off the dock and some rocks had zebra mussels that some in our group mildly cut their feet on since we weren't careful. After about 5ft, the beach was sandy. The lake was quite clean and clear, and could be choppy at times with high winds. Overall, the lake was very pleasant and we had a good time swimming. Overall, it was a fun experience at a nice place!

Summary: Beautiful log cabin, maintained well, beautiful view on the bluff overlooking the lake with roomy deck, modern conveniences, comfortable beds, great kitchen, good dock though quite a few stairs down to the lake, good directions from owner - google maps gave us a wrong turn, dirt road the last leg of the drive but well maintained road. Was the perfect place for our stay at Woman Lake to fish, explore the area, and relax. Great communication from owner.

Summary: Breathtaking views, beautifully maintained and gorgeous cabin with all the conveniences of home! Wonderful location for relaxation and family time spent indoors and out… we rented a pontoon from Wheeler’s Marine and spent endless hours exploring the breathtaking Woman Lake Chain. The hosts are professional and communicate quickly…we highly recommend for families with teens.

Summary: My wife and I took our 3 Norwegian guests away from their intense 2-week research project for a weekend on Woman Lake. Delightful. Peaceful. Beautiful. We have relatives nearby who took us on a boat tour around the lake, which made for yet a whole other enjoyable experience. We ran up to Itasca State Park for an afternoon. Susie made it easy. This was my first VRBO rental. Our guests loved it. I'd go again.
