“The Poet’s Cottage” sits on the western shore of West Grand Traverse Bay, a gem of Northern Michigan! From this vantage point breathtaking sunrises appear over the tip of Old Mission Peninsula
2 miles across the bay as you are located on the 45th parallel. Coffee or tea on your deck greeted by the morning sun and million dollar view brings a smile ear to ear and is your reward for working hard all year! It just doesn't get any better than this – you've found your place in our Northern Michigan Paradise! At night you see the Northern Lights and the faint lights on the shore from Grand Traverse Light to Charlevoix to Petoskey! The stars in the sky are truly north to south on the horizon.
This wonderful cottage is located 3 miles east of the quaint Village of Suttons Bay on the Stony Point peninsula, a highly desirable neighborhood that is quiet, safe and rural in character. The area is perfect for your daily walk or bicycling the paved roads. The cottage has been extensively remodeled and was completed in April 2015. A second full bathroom was completed in spring of 2017.
This cottage is 1.200 square feet with a totally remodeled kitchen consisting of white cabinetry and quartz counter tops and random width wood floors throughout. The interior has been totally repainted and the front enclosed porch overlooking West Grand Traverse Bay has also been remodeled. Two bedrooms and two full bathrooms equipped with 2 queen beds and a bunk bed, sleeps a total of six. There is also a washer / dryer available for your use. WiFi, cable and a flat screen TV are also included. **Please Note: There is not a dock nor mooring buoy but the Suttons Bay Marina is a short drive.

Summary: I can’t express how wonderful our stay was in Sutton’s Bay! The house was everything we could have wanted and the property right on the bay was perfect! We kayaked and paddle boarded right from the dock. It was a friendly, quiet neighborhood. We loved the special personalized note from the owners. The property manager, Cayman, was so helpful and gave recommendations about the area. I would recommend this house to anyone who is looking in the area. Don’t look any further. This house and location were perfect! I didn’t want to leave!

Summary: Just what we needed to close out a stressful and hectic spring & summer with some R&R! The cottage has everything you need, a perfect view of the Grand Traverse bay with gorgeous sunrises, and in a quiet neighborhood. Will definitely look into staying again!

Summary: We rented this cottage with another couple. Very clean and well stocked with full kitchen Supplies, laundry detergent, toiletries, garbage bags. Jennifer was quick to respond with questions and even stopped by when we checked in to see if we needed anything. They have a charcoal grill with all the supplies. Nice large deck to sit in Adirondack chairs Overlooking the west bay. There was a small sandy area by the beach with a fire pit we sat around in provided beach chairs. The shore line is rocky definitely helps if you have water shoes when you walk Into water but the water was clear and shallow for a ways out. Everything was comfortable beds, couch, enough dining space indoor/outdoor. Downtown Sutton’s bay is not more than a 5 min nice drive away. We highly recommended the poets cottage!! We would come back again!

Summary: Very nice, comfortable home with a wonderful deck. Nice neighborhood, great for walking and bike riding. Everything was clean and well maintained We appreciated the property manger meeting us at the house to ensure that everything was okay. I would recommend this two bedroom house to friends that wanted to spend time in the Suttons Bay Area.

Summary: This is the second year staying at this property, and I have loved it both times! The location is perfect, and the view is beautiful. The inside is updated and clean with a new bathroom addition that is beautiful. I have recommended this property and will be coming back again next year!

Summary: We decided to spend our honeymoon week at the cottage for some much needed R&R. Sutton's Bay, and this cottage were perfect for what we were looking for. Close to downtown Sutton's Bay, which is a little less crowded than some other villages on the peninsula, but from what we saw just as nice. Great proximity to wineries, a brewery and downtown restaurants. We rode our bikes all over the place. The cottage appears to be recently remodeled and had nice finishes and amenities. Very clean. The view from the deck and beach was amazing. The water off of the beach is very clear, you can see the ground as you wade out more than waist deep. Excellent getaway cottage.
