Summary: It's the grounds that made me fall in love with this place. Intimate & beautiful but big enough that you can stretch out your legs by strolling through well cared for gardens. Lots of flowers. A small bubbling river wraps around the property & there is this perfect spot along the river where you can sit on a bench and take in the sounds of the forest and the view of mountains in the distance. Pure bliss! The hotel itself is close to the main highway, but tucked just far enough back from the road that the noise is mostly gone. It isn't right in Dambulla, but it's fairly easy to catch a bus or call a tuk-tuk, you'd need to do that at most places to get to the sights anyway. Food - Fantastic! And the restaurant is built around a massive tree. Pretty awesome. You just need tell the staff in advance when you'd like to eat & your meal will be ready on time. All in all, the staff were extremely respectful, friendly and helpful. Room was cleaned daily. Wifi, TV, hot water, room all in good order. I stayed for 3 nights and would have loved to stay longer. I was very well cared for here & would definitely stay here again if I ever get the chance.

Summary: It is a long drive from Colombo to the hotel but I was greeted by a driver waiting for me arranged by the hotel. The property is lovely and green. Very serene and quiet. The staff was accommodating by helping me plan my day with activities. They arranged a car to take me around while I did my sight seeing. The location is perfect to see all the sites within Matale and Kandy. Would definitely recommend coming here.
