Positive: This beautiful old hotel is an absolute delight. First impression was a bit basic. But the charm grows on you. The staff are perfect and the location is spot on for public transport options. It is a spacious comfortable accommodation and fantastic value for money. Our room had a downstairs lounge with a full kitchen. Upstairs was a huge bed and the bathroom.

Negative: Is it the cleanest hotel I have stayed at? No. The bedding is clean and crisp. The rest could do with a freshen up, a dust and a good scrub. But having said that I would definitely stay again.

Positive: Location was great, v central and easy access to trams and trains. We were upgraded to a 1 bed room which was extremely spacious and kitchen well kitted out. Pool and jacuzzi were great

Negative: Wifi was weak in our room but we were told it was being fixed.

Positive: The location can’t be beat, so close to many attractions and places. I love the old building and the stone balconies. The manager is very friendly

Negative: The shower had some tape holding the head together but it was still spurting out water every which way. The toilet was squashed between two walls and my partners legs didn’t fit if he sat straight and had to sit sideways on the toilet We had a balcony room and I like sitting out or leaving the door open to enjoy the morning air but the people in the room next door would smoke on their balcony at different times and the smell was just horrible, I had to shut my door.

Positive: Beautiful older building, high ceilings, nicely restored. Largish room wiith full kitchen facilities. Great to have a sauna and spa downstairs, pool was a swimmable temperature (and i am from Darwin!). Location was very convenient. Chocolates on arrival were a lovely touch.

Negative: Would have preferred a bath than a shower, I thought i booked a room which had a bath. Suggest that if a bath is preferred that you mention this when booking, as the inclusions seem to differ depending on which webpage you look at.

Positive: The room was very psacious, the kitchenette well equipped, large refrigerator and really handy to be able to make your own pace given jetlag and busy schedule and independent of restaurant opening hours. The hotel is a real historic place, quiet overall and everywhere. Big compliments to the staff who were extremely friendly

Negative: the gym was smaller than expected and not well-aired but it did the trick
