Is there a land of such supreme and perfect beauty anywhere? Holidaymakers who have visited the region will no doubt bare testimony to the statement. Cadennabia and Griante forms one town, Cadennabia on the lake and Griante, a residential area perched 50 metres up the hill looking down on the lake.

Summary: Despite the heatwave we had an amazing stay. Matteo was extremely helpful, the apartment was lovely and very well placed and we particularly appreciated the swimming pool and air conditioning this week! It is possible to have a good holiday here without a car as the ferries are convenient and frequent. We would unreservedly recommend this property and hope to return one day.

Summary: Just returned from a wonderful week at griante reisdence. Such a relaxing and tranquil spot. Matteo was the perfect host. The booking process was seamless and the home even better than the photographs online which is always a pleasant surprise! Immaculate facilities and spacious living accomodation for our family. We had the pool to ourselves during the day and loved our walks down to the village exploring the restaurants and bars, churches and Hills etc We will definitely return. Thnnk you and best wishes for the remainder of the season.

Summary: Just returned from a memorable week at Griante Residence. The home is just as advertised if not better, spotless, spacious and kitted out nicely. Matteo really went out of his way to make our stay special, nothing was too much trouble for him. The location is ideal as we could take the ferry to Bellagio,nice but very Americanised and Varenna, charming and less spoiled, easily. Or relax in the bars and restaurants around the local area of which there were many suberb restaurants. Wifi worked well most of the week and the jacuzzo was a nice added surprise whocj we took full advantage of-

Summary: This was our first trip to Lake Como but hopefully not our last. It's beautiful. These apartments are up on a hill away from the main road in Griante, one of the nicest areas of Lake Como. At the bottom of the hill is Cadenabbia from where you can take a boat to Bellagio. Nearby is Menaggio where you can sail to Varenna or take a boat all the way to Como. We hired a car and drove from Linate Airport. It's' a straightforward drive but don't use a Satnav - it made things far more complicated than necessary. You need to contact the owner Matteo when you leave Milan . He meets you at Lenno about half and hour from the apartment. You won't find it on your own! You could in theory do this holiday without a car, but we found it useful, first of all because the apartments are a fairly long, steep climb from Cadenabbia and also because we went in and out of Menaggio almost daily. We never attempted the climb, but other guests at the apartments said it wasn't that bad. They all looked much fitter than us though. The pool is very nice for cooling off (it's not deep) and there is also a jacuzzi and sauna., Our apartment, no 2, is on two levels which suited us perfectly with two older teenagers. Each level has a bedroom, bathroom and lounge with TV/DVD so they were able to sit and watch DVDs late into the night while we could head off for bed undisturbed. (Bring your own DVDs with you! Also there's no English language TV available) The ground floor opens up straight onto the pool which was really nice. There is also a small general store a couple of minutes from the residence which sells very good quality meat. We found this more than adequate for most things. If you want a big choice of fruit and veg, Menaggio is the place. Otherwise, supermarkets don't really figure very heavily in the area. The apartment is very attractive and we enjoyed sharing the pool with the other visitors who were British and German. It was all very friendly. Our only complaint was that we found our mattresses very hard (probably ideal if you like "orthopaedic") It was also extremely hot. Our apartment didn't have air conditioning (some do) but Matteo will supply fans if you ask for them. It would make for him to leave them in the flats as a matter of course. According to the guestbook Matteo is extemely helpful, but we never contacted him during our stay. He was certainly very pleasant to deal with. Lake Como is beautiful and I was very sad to head home after a week.
