Positive: Beautiful location facing the open waters, just a stone’s throw from Arnarstapi and pretty much on the main road. Views from the room are lovely. Its a simple, no-frills hotel that does its job of providing a warm, clean play to stay just right. WiFi could be a bit sketchy but in a way it adds to the experience of disconnecting a bit. Bathrooms were clean. The staff was very warm and helpful. I needed a change of room, and they helped me right away!
Negative: Not really a complaint but a suggestion- the rooms could also use a dustbin and a box of tissues. There’s just one small dustbin in the bathroom and it was a bit inadequate.
Summary: Would definitely recommend this place.

Positive: We were greeted warmly by Laila the proprietor. Laila and her husband have tended the Guesthouse Hof for over 30 years with upgrades and additions over time. Our room was spacious, comfortable and we had a view of the ocean. The Guesthouse has a beautiful setting close to the ocean which is open for guests to explore. Laila and staff were always congenial and attentive. Breakfast was served in a spacious dining hall with a stunning view of the Snaefellsjokull Volcano. Dining at breakfast was conducive to chatting with fellow travelers.
Negative: We would have enjoyed some outdoor chairs scattered around the property to sit and watch sunsets.
Summary: We'll be back!
