Just 90 minutes from Sydney, this is the perfect farm-stay getaway for a large family or group of friends.
Enjoy the best that the South Coast has to offer at this gorgeous 60-acre property, located 5 minutes’ drive from charming Jamberoo village, and 15 minutes’ drive from beachside Kiama.
The property has an elevated position on Jamberoo Mountain, with sea glimpses to the East, and breathtaking views of the Illawarra escarpment to the West.
You’ll enjoy complete privacy at Gumarra Homestead, surrounded by tranquil gardens and native bushland. We get daily visits from the local wildlife including a family of kangaroos and a wide array of birdlife.
There are ten paddocks on the property, with friendly sheep, cows and a horse as well as an array of wildlife including kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, echidnas, and a wide range of birdlife. You’ll also find a handful of hens in the chicken coop.
The house includes two large living spaces, a well-equipped kitchen, 7 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a large child-secure verandah and BBQ area. We also have a slow combustion wood-heater with firewood provided from May to September.
The wifi signal in the house is excellent. There are two large TVs with all the major streaming channels (Netflix, Stan, Prime, etc), DVD players plus a wide range of DVDs.
You will enjoy a wide range of activities during your stay at Gumarra Homestead, including use of the private inground solar-heated pool, floodlit tennis court and table tennis table. There are tracks for bushwalking through the property’s rainforest, or neighbouring Barren Grounds.
In the surrounding areas there’s plenty to keep you entertained. The Jamberoo Action Park and Illawarra Fly Treetop Adventures are excellent options for kids, and the Minnamurra Rainforest Centre is fun for all ages. The pristine local beaches of Kiama and Gerringong are sure to put on a good show for you, regardless of the time of year.

Summary: Ample room for our family of 13. Many facilities to keep everyone busy eg tennis court, large heated pool and hot tub, table tennis, boule, snooker, board games, other sporting implements, weights, fire pit, walks, friendly horse and sheep to feed, barbeque, lovely bush outlook. Inside - three comfortable lounges, large TVs, good sized bedrooms, spacious common areas. We all loved it and had a great time.

Summary: Our family had a wonderful time staying at Gumarra homestead. Plenty of space for multiple families, and a beautiful location and outlook. The animals and pool were enjoyed by the kids. Highly recommend Gumarra Homestead for a family getaway.

Summary: The property is great and offers lots of different activities and ample space. The kitchen is well equipped. Only disappointment was the cleanliness of the windows as appeared to have not been cleaned in a very long time, and the leaks in the verandah ceilings making for a very wet and dangerous tiled area after all the rain.

Summary: Great house with lots of space and plenty to do ie. Solar heated pool, tennis court, pool table, table tennis table. Property has amazing views with an abundance of lawn to spread out on. Great outdoor uncover veranda to relax on. We were a party of 13 and had plenty of room.

Summary: The house is huge and had lots of amenities. We had a great time. The view was also lovely. It was a bit disappointing that the floor heating wasn’t in operation but the fire place made up for it. The 3pm check out was great too! Would recommend and definitely want to go back again.

Summary: The location and facilities the property are excellent. So much for everyone to keep themselves busy - there was minimal time spent on screens for the teens. We all hung out in the pool, the hot tub, played tennis and table tennis, and explored the property. Good cooking facilities for the foodies asking us, plenty of space for our large group. Absolutely stunning location. We’d love to return.
