Positive: Good points: amazing view from the balcony; walking distance to the beach -10 min ( but again, I suspect that all the hotels in Gumbet are close to the beach, as it is a very small holiday resort, so nothing special here; the man at the reception was friendly and talked good English ( hallelujah), as we learned travelling along coastal Turkey that literally nobody speaks even basic English ( I wonder, do they even learn it at schools ); the area beside the swimming pool is really beautiful ( although water in the swimming pool was freezing )
Negative: Breakfast was just awful, there is no other words to describe it. Scrambled eggs with french fries !!I wonder who gave them that idea of french fries for breakfast. A few little slices of cheese and couple of sad looking black olives. They had no butter at all !!! coffee machine was broken. Orange juice was totally not natural.They had no milk either. Left all breakfast at table and had to go somewhere else to eat, and to have at least a cup of coffee. Bathroom was not cleaned properly ( but I found in general that Turkish standards of cleanliness are different from the Europeans or Americans). Awuful smell of sewage in the bathroom, had to keep it closed all the time ( but again, we found t the whole Gumbet had this problem ) There was coffee sachets in the room, but no cups !!! only 2 glasses. So how are people supposed to drink this coffee? To sum up : I would no stay in this hotel again, unless I had absolutely no choice. Advices to hotel owner : 1.invest in English language course for your stuff, so not just one employee at the reception could speak it 2. Invest in training your employees to do a cleaning course or train them yourself to a much higher standards 3. Deal with the smell of sewage in the bathroom 4. Put a few cups in the room so people actually are able to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee 5. Breakfast should be seriously reconsidered. It is better not to provide breakfast at all , if you cant afford it, than to serve it in such poor standards. But if you want to keep the breakfast option , this is what should Always be there : fresh bread, eggs, butter, jam, milk, cheese, tea, and , of course, COFFEE! Probably some cereal too. I hope the owner will read this and will do the necessary adjustments , so his business will prosper and grow!

Positive: Everything there was nothing not to like . For a budget hotel it was absolutely perfect. . I got upgraded to a sea view . The hotel is centrally located in Gumbet , you can walk everywhere , the old castle & old bodrum town is 2,5 km’s away . Comfortable largish room with balcony overlooking the bay , large comfortable bed , aircon if you need it WIFI available . Nice pool area
Negative: Nothing for a budget hotel in Turkey it exceed all my expectations
Summary: I came for 5 nights & ended up staying for 8

Positive: The thing that makes this hotel so special is the staff. They were all absolutely fantastic, and all went above and beyond, but in particular Salih was a total gem. He was so kind and thoughtful every single day, and really made me feel so welcome throughout my stay. Maram was also wonderful, and she cooks delicious eggs for breakfast every day! Finally the manager Onur was extremely attentive, and arranged for things like my laundry to be done, which was extremely helpful. You cannot find more charming hotel staff anywhere in the world. They even gave me a bottle of bubbly and fruit platter on my last night as a present (see photo). They were all such fantastic people, and Salih really was such a gent.
Negative: Clubs nearby are a bit noisy (only at night) but with a good pair of earplugs I was totally fine.
Summary: Best hotel staff in the world who will make you feel like you're in a home away from home.

Positive: New facilities. Nice pool and bar. The staff , however, is what makes the property stand out to me the service was like a 5 star hotel. I detail it in my summary
Negative: No elevator, but not a big deal for me as I am able bodied and stayed at the top suite. Staff will help carry luggage up the stairs. The property could be noisy in the evening but that’s not unexpected because you’re booking the stay to partake in the nightlife.
