Positive: A very convenient walk to the centre of Chinon. The garden area is very pleasant. Bike storage The breakfast was great.

Negative: Our ground-floor room window was about 3m from the road. There was far from a constant stream of traffic, but it was enough to continually wake you up + looking out onto the hotel bins was not ideal. As the room wasn't air-conditioned we had no choice but to leave the windows open for each of the 4 nights. When they say check-in is from 16:30 it's from 16:30. We arrived earlier and the hotel was locked up. When we rang the number on the door, we were told to come back 2hr later at 16:30.

Positive: Great location, quirky tower room from 13th century Very hospitable & helpful, booked a restaurant for dinner for me & got up early for breakfast as I needed to leave at 7:30am

Negative: No air conditioning in room -was a fan but still hot. Lots of steep stairs - not good if you don’t have great balance

Summary: Fantastic host & great location & roomin 23th century tower. Beware of the steep steps & no air conditioning
