Positive: They sent someone to the cabin at 7pm to light the fireplace. That was nice.
Negative: We stayed in a cabin. The internet access was so-so, intermittent. I like real coffee for breakfast. I'm not sure what was served but it wasn't coffee. I wish I would have been given an option. Other than that, breakfast was minimum but good.
Summary: It was a very relaxing, pleasant stay.

Positive: Great hotel. Beautiful place, beautiful territory. Very nice, helpful staff. Great parillada for normal money. Beautiful pool, there is a jacuzzi. It was a bit chilly in the room, the girl brought a heater and a cart of firewood. Everything was top notch! Thank you for a wonderful holiday!

Positive: Excellent. I recommend eating outside on the rooftop patio when sunny. The swimming pool area was beautiful.
Negative: The smaller cabins are cozy but too small for our liking - easy to bang your head on the slanted roof. There are no comfortable chairs in the room or on the tiny terrace. And no closets to put your clothes. We paid additional to be moved into a larger cottage with fireplace. The jacuzzis need 2 hours to warmup. The saunas aren´t operational yet.
Summary: We had a lovely stay. The location is perfect - in front of a lagoon and mountain with a lovely walk

Positive: This is for Cuenca gringos looking for a weekend getaway nearby, which was how I stumbled upon this delightful place. It's maybe 1:40 from Cuenca and a little higher altitude. The beautiful property is adjacent to Lake Busa, which is at the base of an imposing and very cool-looking mountain called El Cerro. There's a big central lodge where the restaurant and bar are, then a separate, quite large building for the indoor pool, hot tub, and Turkish bath. Indoor pools are super rare around here, and this one is quite nice. All of the rooms are standalone structures of varying sizes. The one we got had a fireplace (they light it for you at dark), a very nice bathroom, and plenty of room for two. Activities are limited but enjoyable. There's a terrific walking trail around the whole lake that is mostly flat. It ducks into the woods a bit and is more of a hiking-style trail for a few hundred yards, but the rest is either just flat or boardwalk style. Locals come up on weekends to relax and have picnics, but otherwise there weren't many people around. There are paddleboats to rent, but I'd only recommend those if you have very short legs. You could walk into San Fernando if you needed more to do. Otherwise, it's a nice place to just hang out, nap, eat, drink, etc. We were told there are tilapia in the lake, which is quite murky. They let us charge stuff to our room rather than pay as we went, which was very much appreciated. Credit cards are accepted, though not for the 50% down they'll want to collect after you book. The food is quite good, with many different options than you typically see. It's reasonably priced and skillfully prepared. Breakfast is included, and they'll make you whatever you want (within reason). The staff is very helpful and accessible, and service in general was solid. It's very clean and well-kept. I would heartily recommend Intihuatana for anybody looking for a semi-rustic getaway in a beautiful location.
Negative: Drinks at the bar were good, if a bit strong, but they took a looooong time to make for some reason. If you want one but don't care when you get it, I'd recommend ordering from wherever you are on the property (e.g. pool, cabin) and just trusting that it'll get there eventually. We brought some of our own wine and were glad we did. Being in the mountains and dry, it gets pretty chilly at night. Anticipating this, we brought a small electric heater, and it saved the day. They do provide extra blankets, but I don't think they would've been enough. I don't know if they have any that you can use. The lodge, which very much had a ski-town feel, is cavernous and cold. The large fireplace is only lit on weekends or when it's busy. A giant TV in the dining area seemed out of place and just played either saxophone covers of pop hits (YouTube) or cumbia music. The WiFi was quite slow, and the signal didn't quite reach our cabin, which was the furthest one from the lodge. Fortunately, we had 4G coverage up there, but I wouldn't count on being able to watch any streaming content or work remotely if that's your thing. The TVs are small but have DirectTV, which was a nice perk. These are mostly nits, though. It's a great place, and we'll be back for sure.
