Positive: They don't have a kitchen, which I knew before I booked, but on Wednesday evenings they give free cheese, crackers, and some meats to customers. This was fine for us as we had lunched with friends earlier so didn't need a full evening meal. The beers are also very good.

Negative: Nothing really, friendly staff and nice ambience.

Summary: Great location on main A38, good service, friendly staff and a clean well-appointed room.

Positive: Friendly landlady, easy and free parking, the room was exceptionally clean and comfortable and soundproof so no road noise.

Negative: Wasn’t massively keen on the pain au chocolat but that is such a tiny thing. It’s great value for money, comfortable and clean!

Negative: Premises pretentiously 'done up' by the brewery company, with fake ancient beams. They had thrown money at the bathroom, with elaborate shower that was far from 'green'. As an architect, my tastes lie in the opposite direction.
