Positive: If you’re looking for something unique and private, this is the perfect place to unwind and recharge. The views of the hillsides are beautiful, and we were even blessed with a double rainbow! We stayed in the cozy shepherd's hut (tiny house) and loved heating it with the charming wood stove—it warms up fast, making it incredibly snug. Daily breakfast was a treat. They provided us with fresh farm eggs, fresh bread, and sausage and bacon from an award-winning butcher, among other things. Highly recommend for a peaceful countryside escape!
Negative: The drive from Hay-on-Wye to the retreat involves a bit of a climb up a narrow road. The views along the way are spectacular and, in our opinion, absolutely worth it! But if narrow roads are a concern, it’s something to keep in mind.

Positive: Super cosy retreat with luxurious touches, we slept like logs with no disturbance from lights or traffic (only the occasional bleat and moo from neighbouring fields). We particularly enjoyed the stunning panoramic view of the Golden Valley from the Shepherd's Hut terrace. We received the warmest of Welsh welcomes from our hosts who showed genuine care for our comfort and enjoyment and greeted us with a hamper of delicious breakfast items and home-baked goodies.

Positive: We received a lovely welcome to the Shepherds Hut which was very clean and cosy and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. Everything we needed was catered for. Delicious home made chocolate muffins and home made bread gave the personal touch. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Positive: A peaceful spot not far from Hay-on-Wye, with access to idyllic walks and Brecon Beacons National Park. The cabin was comfortable, and we really appreciated the small touches (good linen, pillows, breakfast, snacks, firewood). Exactly what we were looking for. We hope to stay again.

Positive: Beautiful little hut on-top of the hills by hay on wye, just ten mins drive to get into the town, wonderful views, beautiful cabin with a Huge and incredibly comfy bed, great shower and a delicious breakfast provided that can be cooked in the cabin and eaten on the table outside whilst admiring the views. Then if it is cold you can warm up with a cute little wood burner. The hosts were so lovely and gave us lots of info about Hay. This place is just brilliant.

Positive: The location is idyllic & we were lucky with the weather. We had a lovely welcome, the shepherds hut is Immaculate with a lovely comfortable bed & great little decking area with a gorgeous view. There was a cute little kitchen area & delicious breakfast hamper. Close to Hay on Wye with the beautiful castle, amazing book shops & great choice of restaurants :)
Negative: Nothing not to like, it was perfect for us.

Well appointed mini kitchen My daughter is both a vegetarian and gluten free - a libel breakfast spread was provided for us to cook, including gluten free vegetarian sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes, eggs, gluten free bread, cereal and biscuits. Very warm hosts
