Summary: Our 10 day stay at this property was exactly what our family needed. We explored the island a bit but learned quickly that our own little beach was our favorite spot. My boys (7 and 10) were able to snorkel almost every day, body board on the rough water days and enjoy lounging on the patio with a good book or game. Frisbee, shell hunting and castle building rounded out our days. Thank you to the Swales for sharing your beautiful property.

Summary: This was a perfect vacation experience. The house is as advertised. Right on the beach. Very nice outdoor area which is covered by a roof and has fans. House is very well stocked with everything you need for a beach vacation including inflatable, floats, life vests, fins, snorkels, and even a waterproof bag. To get to the beach all you have to do is walk downstairs. The best part of the vacation was to sit near the fence and watch the waves crash while drinking coffee.

Summary: House was very nice, located right on the beach. It is in a residential area, not far from grocery stores & restaurants. There is both a local cantina and a seafood restaurant on the same street.

Summary: Casa Tres Hermanos is located in beautiful Rincon, on the western side of Puerto Rico. It's tucked away at the end of a small, quiet residential street, so the only sounds you hear are of the waves, the birds and the coqui. (By the way, if you're not familiar with the coqui, you should be--they are the frogs hidden away in the trees and bushes that eat all of those pesky insects that are so bothersome on other Caribbean islands.) The house is very much as described--right next to the ocean, very clean, well-maintained and comfortable. Since I agree with so many of the positive comments left by other reviewers, I'll just add in a few other thoughts about the unique characteristics of this house. First, the kitchen is very well outfitted with dishes, pans, cooking utensils, etc. I've stayed at so many places where you only have one pot and one pan (argh!). There's also a gas grill located on the covered patio that makes it really easy to cook a piece of meat or fish (which can be purchased just a few steps away.) Next, when the tide isn't at its peak, you can walk about a mile south and about two miles north, seeing only a few people (and most of them are locals.) You'll see many more pelicans than people. Finally, while we had an opportunity to spend lots of beach time, we also found a few out of the ordinary activities in the area. The first was renting mountain bikes and riding them in the excellent single track area behind the lighthouse in Rincon. Second, we love the forest in Guajataca, which is just 45 minutes away by car, where you can go on very cool hikes in the woods. Third, you can pretend you're part of the 1% and have a few drinks at the very ritzy Horned Dorsett, which is only 0.8 miles south. Our family loves Puerto Rico and we'd love to come back to Casa Tres Hermanos!

Summary: This is a really cute house, nicely equipped and right on a quiet stretch of beach. We loved watching the pelicans and terns every day, as well as the resident iguana, who actually swam in the ocean! It was a comfortable stay for two of us. The little kitchen is nice and new but just note that if you are a larger group aiming to prepare meals at home, there is not a ton of counter space and there is no dishwasher. Loved the patio and upstairs deck. The beach was a bit too rough for us to snorkel in, but we enjoyed a daily swim. The beach is characterized as "wild" and in fact it is not at all built up and you can take long walks (there will be some trash and broken glass but that is typical for area beaches). The paved yard is too bad but maybe the owners can add shuffleboard! Final note: The security measures are nice but a little tiresome: each entry has three doors, all of which lock from the inside, and there is a bright outdoor security light that is on 24/7.

Summary: This is a lovely large house right on the beach. It is in the quiet Barrero section of Rincon, a few miles south of the main town. I highly recommend it. I stayed here with my 82 year old father visiting from Italy, and we had a great time. We spent long hours walking on the lovely and largely empty beach, watching the amazing sunsets, and grilling lots of fresh fish under the large covered veranda. At night, the stars were amazing, so bring along some binoculars and a sky watch app. As the house is somewhat isolated, it is best for those desiring some degree of isolation, calm, and serenity. There is a small local bar close by and a lovely small local fishmonger next door, but otherwise, you will have to drive for groceries, bars, restaurants, etc. This never presented us with a problem, but I guess it depends what you are looking for. I preferred hanging out with my father and the cool pelicans and fish than with the other tourists. The house is in very good shape and clean, with a nice kitchen, two full baths, and even a deck on the second floor. The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious, and the sound of waves lulled us to sleep. There is no cable, but there is a flat panel TV and a DVD player. The wifi was acceptable, but has relatively low bandwidth and a bit temperamental at times. It suited our purposes, as I was able to stream my home tv service through the Internet, which we watched on the covered veranda. The property manager, Gloria, was very nice and helpful, and the owner, Rick, was pleasant and very easy to work with. All our questions were answered promptly and effectively. We did a few day trips down the western coast, to the southwestern tip of PR, as well as into the mountains. We ate very well at El Bohio restaurant in Joyuda, a small town along the coast about 30 minutes south. All in all, we had a wonderful time at this lovely house, and I would highly recommend it!

Summary: After staying in Puerto one week in a home that was a HUGE disappointment in Dorado, we were skeptical of Casa Tres Hermanos . . . until we arrived. The directions provide were excellent so we had no trouble finding the house. It is set at the end of a small private road of three houses just past a small local bar. At first we worried that the bar might be noisy, but it never was, not even on a weekend night. Truly a residential neighborhood. Upon arrival we noted that while the home rents 4 of the 5 bedrooms, we were only 2 so one bedroom had been made up for us downstairs. The mattress was very comfortable, but when the caretaker, Gladys, showed us the rest of the house we requested a switch to the upstairs room closest to the ocean. She readily complied. While we loved the sound of the surf at night, this mattress was a bit too firm for me. Keep that in mind if you have a choice of rooms. A very complete welcome packet was available to us, so we had no questions about the house or area. The only (minor) problem we encountered the first day was getting hot water in the shower as the knobs are reversed and both had a "C" on them. Gladys, again, quickly solved that problem. The house was spotlessly clean and the kitchen, while small, contained everything one could need for cooking. Outside on the patio was a gas grill which we put to use for most of our dinners. We purchased fresh, just caught moments before, fish from the fisherman a few minutes stroll down the beach. Watch for the incoming boat and see what they caught that day; dorado, mahi, snapper, mackerel, tuna . . . The beach is an endless stretch of sand where we walked miles each day, collecting the abundant beach glass and a good variety of shells. However, the surf was quite high most of our stay so getting into the water was tricky, though not impossible. I am sure there are calm times to go but it wasn't the case for us and we were disappointed that we couldn't take advantage of the snorkeling. My only criticisms of the house have to do with young children. The "yard" is paved so there is no safe place for a toddler or young child to run around. And if the surf is high, it would be impossible for them to enter the water. Any older children or adults would be fine. Rincon is a wonderful little town with good shopping and restaurants. We loved Casa Llena where we enjoyed two dinners in a seaside table. We'd love to return!
