Positive: On arrival I met with the owner whom stays in the property attached, she was pleasant. Really enjoyed the location. For two adults and three children there was space with a closed off garden area which our dog loved having the freedom of. Lots of outdoors space with a pond and walkway around the property which we did one evening. This property isn’t far from anywhere really, close to visitors attractions and shops. The owner also contacted me during our stay letting me know she had bought and assembled a BBQ for us which was nice.
Negative: The cleanliness of inside the property could have been better, the blinds were dirty, dusty, floors messy. There wasn’t much washing up liquid/sprays and no more bin bags, however we made this work by using bags we had brought back from shopping. It would have been good to have a hoover or large brush to do a quick clean up before leaving too.
Summary: Overall it was a great stay and we all had a great time away.

Positive: We enjoyed our stay at this semi detached cottage. The kitchen was well-equipped and made cooking easy, and the three bedrooms were great for our family. The large bathroom was modern and perfect for a family. The living area, while small, was cosy and functional. Even though the cottage is semi-detached, it felt very private and peaceful, which we appreciated. The outdoor space was good —great for sitting out and enjoying the surroundings. There were beautiful woodland walks nearby, and the area itself was quiet and interesting to explore. There was also plenty of space to park.
Negative: We really liked the property—it has a lot of charm and could be a fantastic stay with just a few small improvements. The beds were not very comfortable, so none of us slept too well. Upgrading the mattresses would make a big difference to experience. Just a heads-up: the Google Maps location is slightly off—it’s actually further down the road and on the right-hand side, not the left. We got there in the end. So posting the address correctly on Google should help. Also, the private road leading to the property is very rough, with lots of potholes and sharp rocks. Unfortunately, we got a puncture in our hire car tyre, and we believe it happened on that road. For anyone driving a hire car, it’s worth noting that this kind of road might affect your insurance. Overall, we enjoyed our stay—these are just a few things that could really improve the experience!

Positive: This property, was more than perfect for our trip. It was spacious, comfortable, clean and homely. We struggle to find somewhere that is big enough for a family of 5 and our two dogs, but hedgehog cottage was exactly what we were looking for...and more! The location was brilliant for visiting our family across Fife and going to the coast, it was somewhere peaceful we could truly relax in with our children who all have additional needs. I sat on the veranda each morning listening to the array of different birds in our surroundings-- take binoculars as it was also a great spot for wildlife! The owner was so incredibly friendly, understanding of our childrens needs, and couldn't have been more helpful. A must stay and we will certainly be back!
