Conveniently located to groceries, restaurants, & Laura Ingalls Wilder house & museum. 5 mi to Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Co, 8 mi to SMORR, & 12 mi to MFTA.

The space
The local railroad which is a large part of the history of our town runs along the bottom side of this 3 acre property. We are not bothered by it but need you to be aware of it. Town is a no whistle zone.

The basement is locked and off limits. Otherwise, feel free to explore all the way around yard at your own risk, keeping in mind the hazards posed by the old foundation and crumbling basement on the property near Commercial Street.
Other things to note
Please be aware of safety issues regarding your children and our loft, loft ladder, front porch, and back deck. Climb our trees and explore our property at your own risk. There is an old foundation on the neighboring lot which we also own which could pose safety hazards.

Summary: Originally came to see Laura Ingalla Widler homestead but didnt do our homework and it closed the weekend before we got there. But we had fun anyway. Not too far from Springfield. House was great just to hang out and play games and catch up. Will stay again when we come back to actually see homestead lol.

Summary: Ours was very unique situation. The weekend we were planning to stay is the same day Hurricane Helene hit. Unfortunately our host lived in the area of the damages and no electricity and her phone was dead. We were not able to reach each other. The property looked wonderful! She called me just as soon as she possibly could and let me know what happened. Very nice person and wanted to make sure we were able to get our full refund. I would recommend this host!

Summary: We recently attended the fall festival at Baker Seed Company in Mansfield. Heritage Guesthouse was perfect for myself and a girlfriend. The town is small and the area is quiet.The house itself took us back in time. Everything was clean, instructions were precise. Owners are in instant contact and access to the house was easy. We enjoyed drinks on the porch in the afternoon and coffee in the morning. Coming from Texas, the 50s Sunday morning were heaven. I had the bed in the master bedroom, and that mattress was 💯!!
