Summary: We had such a great time at Hilltop Hideaway. They provided everything we could’ve possibly needed. Fishing off the dock was so much fun. Would definitely stay here again

Summary: We had a lovely stay at the Hilltop Hideaway. The house is clean and well-maintained, and the hosts have so many extra little touches to make it special. The view is beautiful, and the decks are just perfect for hanging out and relaxing in nature. There are kayaks that are easy to put in which is an awesome addition. We enjoyed cooking in the large kitchen and taking in the view. I will say the downstairs bedroom smells quite musty, and we couldn’t air it out enough, so none of us could sleep there. However, the couch upstairs was comfortable, and there was an air mattress and upstairs bedroom for our use, so we managed just fine. Just know if you are sensitive to musty smells, that space may not work for you either. The hosts are very responsive to questions, and I would recommend a stay here. It was a wonderful time.

Summary: We live in Plymouth/Minneapolis MN and booked the Hilltop Hideaway cabin to visit our daughter and her boyfriend who moved to Ann Arbor at the beginning of Covid. The half hour drive was close enough for them to come and go from their apartment where they work from home. We were happy the cabin had 4 kayaks, and we explored much of the lake chain. The Highland lake shoreline consists of “fingers of land” which make for interesting kayaking and feels more like a river in many spots. I fished off the dock and caught a big bass which made a delicious meal! We swam off the dock. It is waist deep near the dock and drops off quickly to 10 feet or more. We also biked several miles of the Lakeland Trail. We had an active week considering the flights of stairs down to the water, kayaking, hiking and bike riding! This area has much natural beauty and protected park land and lakes to explore! The cabin has a great kitchen filled with all the cooking items one would need. We did a lot of cooking so this was appreciated! The laundry room was also great to have on site. The upstairs bed was comfortable. (We didn’t use the downstairs bunkbed.) Supplies like lifejackets, towels, fire pit and wood were great. Also extras like s’mores and some beverages were nice surprises. The downstairs bedroom had a strong musty smell. We placed a fan in the window to air the place out even though the window screen was missing. A dehumidifier or “Damp Rid” product line would help greatly. But overall, a pleasant cabin—we enjoyed our stay!

Summary: This place was fantastic. Typical style lake cottage for the area, clean and Kellie had everything ready for when we arrived. Fishing and swimming are great as well as the kayaks. My family used to live in the area, it's a very quiet area...perfect for a relaxing stay. I would recommend to anyone.

Summary: We had a wonderful stay and the accommodations were great. The owners were responsive to our inquiries. Having the kayaks to use was a major plus as the lakes are beautiful and a lot of fun to paddle on. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to the area.
